sfojimbo
It'll do everything you want, But paying $1,100 for a $300 video card doesn't sound very appealing to me. daspinall
It'll do everything you want, But paying $1,100 for a $300 video card doesn't sound very appealing to me. That's why I'm waiting. They seem to be selling at around £650 now... I spent well over a grand in upgrades already for MSFS, so another 650 blus what I get back from selling the old card don't seem too steep anymore....... "It'll do everything you want" that's what I need! thanks for the feedback..... When I did the upgrades VR was never in my thoughts, I was originally going to buy a all in one dual monitor, Then I started reading about FS and VR and decided to go down that road, I knew the Card would be the weakest link and I was right! but at the time of upgrading graphic cards where scarce... sfojimbo
This is crazy, four GTX 1080ti video cards sold on E-Bay this morning for an average price of $772 and the next one that will close in an hour is already bid up to $810. i7-10700K, ASUS Prime Z490-P motherboard, 32 gig, GTX 1080 Ti, 1TB M2 drive, Thrustmaster T16000M, Logitech Rudder Pedals , xbox controller. g7rta
You might want to look into the RTX 3060ti rather than the 12GB version.. https://www.pcgamer.com/uk/nvidia-rtx-3060-vs-rtx-3060-ti/ I would avoid eBay though for obvious reasons. Overclockers...Scan..etc probably best place. CLE_GrummanTiger
Have a 3060 Ti and can vouch for it. Wonderful card for the value, provided you can land one at $400 MSRP. This is likely your best bet: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-rtx-3060-ti-8gb-gddr6-pci-express-4-0-graphics-card-steel-and-black/6439402.p?skuId=6439402 Refresh often starting around 7 AM I think on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There’s a lot of info online about when the best time it is to look for them and buy it. There are also stock alert sites that will immediately notify you upon availability of it (and other in-demand items). Good luck! sfojimbo
If I could get one for $400.00 I would jump on it. I doubt that will happen though, not until the logjam breaks. I've had good experiences on E-bay, that's where I found my motherboard and the 1080ti, lots of things other than computers too. But I pay attention to who the seller is. A person with 100 sales 100% positive would be crazy to cheat anyone on a sale of a few hundred bucks. And I watch the shipping price, I assume that anybody who is running that up is dishonest. i7-10700K, ASUS Prime Z490-P motherboard, 32 gig, GTX 1080 Ti, 1TB M2 drive, Thrustmaster T16000M, Logitech Rudder Pedals , xbox controller. Thanks will look at this, The RTX 3060 12GB RTX 3060 Ti comparison is very impressive! Thanks for the feedback guys....... it's like you say trying to get your hands on them is not easy at the mo, that's how I ended up with the card I have at present........ Every sim I've had I've made compromises, but not this time around...... I don't have a endless pot of money this is money that would normally be used up traveling abroad, which due to CV-19 is not really a good idea! A quick check of the Australian Ebay site has a few listed but all over $A1300 (£715). I recently (a month ago) checked at my local PC store about a graphic card update and nearly fell over backwards at how much they have gone up in price since I purchased my RTX2060 OC 6GB and was told something which sounded like the reason is caused by a shortage video cards and/or GDDR ram. daspinall
I had a good conversation with Scan UK this morning.... It seems the problem with the RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB is they are having problems sourcing some of the raw materials for one of its components, and so have no idea when they will get them in! I asked if there's an equivalent to this card and the short answer is no... He recommended I hold out as it's such a monster of a card in it's class..... So my end the sim runs sweat in Ultra in screen mode, however the card bombs out in VR mode even on mid settings............ so it's a waiting game and I hate waiting lol .... I will try france and germany on the off chance there's one kicking around over there...... Not fully trusting Ebay for PC parts I will avoid them completely...... dcoffey99
I bought a new dell when they was on sell for 1200, it came with a 3060ti. I love it, VR is amazing, I have all settings on high and have a very smooth frame rate. I have not experimented with ultra yet, so don't know how that would fan out.
