  1. Are they CH Products? If so, I have the same problem (and many others too). I'm currently looking to replace by buying Logitech.
  2. Hello, it's unlikely due to the time that's passed, but is the yoke still available?
  3. Wow, that’s some serious hardware for free. Don’t suppose you have anything left?
  4. There’s been a lot of that today and it’s due to the weather servers running amok (possibly related to the numerous outages reported today). Temps at higher altitudes were very wrong (summer-like temps up there).
  5. There’s a couple, like the freeware Edgley Optica (NOT from Orbx) or GotGravel’s Vertigo. Remains to be seen how the HondaJet will be, but after some chatting and seeing his previews, I have high hopes this will be study-level quality.
  6. I just run 'em over... Fortunately, the sim doesn't count them as objects that would otherwise damage the aircraft. It's annoying, to be sure, but since most of my time is spent in the skies, I don't let it bother me too much.
  7. On behalf of a diligent and single developer, I present to you... The HondaJet! For more info, go here to the official forum post about it, includes screenshots and more info! https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/upcoming-hondajet-for-msfs/418226 I don't know about you, but I'm plenty excited about this little beauty. A little background on this guy who developed it: He originally worked on it as a project and implemented it into Prepar3D and then found out about MSFS and decided to rebuild it from the ground up for the new sim. All told, he's spent a couple of years on this. He estimates roughly a month to go before completion. Most likely freeware, but payware-level quality! If it performs like it looks, I'll donate a nice sum to this guy!
  8. Leg #2 of my world tour, from W05 (Gettysburg, PA) to KACK (Nantucket, MA), with a long detour to D.C. and up the coastline to the Big Apple, and across Long Island. All in the DA40NG with gorgeous views.
  9. Decided to try my hand at the DA40NG and...WOW! I think I'm gonna like flying this nifty little plane a lot! The view out of the cockpit is otherworldly. I can see why it's a very popular plane. Actually flew my first leg of my planned world tour, from KCGF to W05 (Cuyahoga County Airport, OH to Gettysburg Regional in PA). Did it all in live weather too, so it was thundering and lightning and dark. IFR to the rescue! Landing this plane took me a little bit by surprise as I dropped pretty quickly as I got close to the runway, but flying in the dark kind of makes you misjudge distances, doesn't it? I bounced, but got down in one piece. Not bad for flying this plane for the first time, right? Also was using this flight to collect data for putting together a performance profile for those who use Little Navmap. I sent Alex (the creator of LNM) the profile file and I'm sure he'll upload it to his site before long if anyone wants an accurate performance profile for the DA40NG. IMPORTANT INFO HERE: The profile I created is based off the mod created by mrtommymxr and will ONLY work with that mod. So, if you use the default Asobo version or some other mod, it won't work (there's a specific field in the profile that reads exactly which aircraft you're flying, modded or otherwise). Think I'll fly this plane again for my next world tour leg, going through DC and working my way up the coastline. Meanwhile, enjoy the shot I took!
  10. I've only gotten the VNAV to work properly in the Working Title mod of the CJ4. Like I said earlier in this thread, it's the only plane currently that has functional VNAV. I understand not even the CRJ from Aerosoft can boast this. For the other planes, I reference the approach charts and follow accordingly or just let ATC direct me (although the sim's artificial intelligence leaves a LOT to be desired). Give it a little time, the Working Title team is working on it!
  11. Actually, VPATH is a function of VNAV. It’s the vertical path that the plane captures when within the computer’s VNAV calculated trajectory (you’ll likely have to descend manually or via VS to reach that capture point). Once captured, the Garmin takes over from there until you press the AP approach button and it captures either the glide scope or glide path, depending on the approach ATC assigns you (be it RNAV or ILS, VNAV should work for both, I believe). This only works if you have a flight plan with altitude constraints built into it, namely the STAR and approach pattern. VNAV becomes active once you’re on the first leg with a waypoint with an altitude constraint You COULD use it during the climb, but most don’t and stick with whatever altitude ATC tells them to climb to and use FLC.
  12. You don't. At least not yet. Got this straight from the horse’s mouth over on Working Title’ discord after I asked about their new upcoming G1000 NXi and VNAV and if the G3000 would see something. Here’s their answer: “It will feature functional VNAV, yep. The G3000 will continue to get some updates like the other ones, but the next level of it will likely come after we get the nav and flight plan systems dialed in on the NXi”
  13. Was playing around with the drone camera, I can see the potential with it! One of the neatest things to come with MSFS besides, well, clouds!
  14. Didn't have time for a full flight, but managed to swing around Fuji to take in its majestic splendor. WOW.
  15. Couple of flights of note: 1. Just a Neofly mission from KTOL to KPCV in the good old 172. Nothing special, right? Well, I was flying live weather and traffic, and it was already dark. Good thing I had a good grip on IFR. Took off, then had to head out a bit into Lake Erie where I promptly ran into a thunderstorm with pouring rain. That was…unnerving! Sticking to IFR and trusting the instruments, I not only lined up on approach but lucked out with the weather clearing. Wow. An ordinary flight turned into a memorable one. 2. KATL to KASE in the CJ4. It was fun blasting out of busy KATL! Clear skies the whole way too. Approach to KASE took me by surprise and learned very quickly why it earned its reputation as one of the most difficult approaches. I misjudged how far away the runway was (or how close, rather) and had to dive for the landing. It was probably a bit steeper than IRL but I managed to come in for a surprisingly butterific landing. I’ll have to try KASE again now that I know what to expect!
  16. Last I heard, next sim update is the target. They’re in closed beta now, so they’re pretty far along already. No idea if it will have all the capabilities you brought up, but here’s a preview:
  17. 1. & 2. I have no idea. I never flew it without the mod. From what I’ve read, the non-modded version is very stripped down and limited. The mod makes it what it is now. For what it’s worth, Working Title is an official Microsoft partner. They’re coming out soon with the new Garmin NXi to replace all the G1000 systems in the sim. 3. As far as I know, no, but their files are easily accessible through their site: https://www.workingtitle.aero/ oh, and it’s free, along with their Garmin improvements. Just download the package and drop it in the community folder. As for your CTDs, I do notice you have quite a bit of stuff running with the sim according to your signature. That may play a role, but I’m no expert in troubleshooting that kind of thing. I can only say I’ve had no issues, but use the non-Steam version (Windows).
  18. Zoomed in, although I really want to learn how to use the drone as that can take seriously good pictures. The jet is a dream to fly once you get a handle on it. The Working Title guys put out a great and exhaustive guide on how to fly it. That’s basically required reading. There’s also videos, of course, but for an A to Z tutorial, you’ll want the 2-hour version made by Filbert Flies. The majority of learning is the FMC and autopilot, but the video and guide do a good job of explaining things that you don’t feel in over your head. The plane benefits greatly from FADEC engines, essentially doing all the work for you and all you have to worry about is the throttle. Also, as far as I know, it’s the only plane in the sim right now that has functional VNAV, and it’s quite impressive. Compared to the other planes, this one is a hot rod and will take off like one. Its power takes some getting used to and you’ll likely overspeed a few times. Heck, I still do now and then. Yes, I fully rely on autopilot with this plane. Trying to do it manually would take a LOT of time and attention. Landing takes a bit of practice as the CJ4 is wont to float a bit. I think once you learn and fly it a few times, you may find yourself surprised how easy of a plane it really is. It’s an awesome plane and I often go to it as it has the best range of all the small planes, is smooth and fast, and fully featured thanks to Working Title.
  19. Flew from KMDW to KLAS in the Working Title CJ4 as I chased the sun (it won). Greeted with the lights of Sin City! Love this plane. First time flying with live traffic too, man, the skies were hopping, especially around Chicago!
  20. Some airplanes, like the Diamond DA62 for example, has FADEC engines, which controls the mixture and prop pitch for you. All you have to worry about is tweaking the throttle. Same goes for the TBM-930.
  21. A lovely sunset flight from Rouen, France to Innsbruck (LFOP - LOWI) At least, it was lovely until I started crossing over into Austria and it became pitch black. Man, it almost felt like I was just floating in a void, it was that unsettling. Only came across a few towns with lights before it was time for me to land, and did I miss my first approach...by a lot. I thought approach would've vectored me in with the proper altitudes, but they never did that, so I was stuck at 13,000 ft. overflying the runway from way up on high. Learned how to input and implement a new approach procedure in the G1000 (thank you, Working Title) and started over again, but this time following the altitude restrictions in my flight plan in Little Navmap. I had little fuel left, so I needed to make this landing one way or another. I elected to lower myself to 3,000 ft, figuring I should be able to see the runway in front of me at this point eventually. Went through the approach procedure, and I can understand why LOWI can be challenging. Hell, it's frightening at night. In fact, I damn near ran myself into an island of a mountain somewhere in the middle of that valley after banking around, I never saw it until I was on top of it. That was a close call. After that, it got a lot smoother and landed the plane with ease (but left of centerline...ALWAYS left, why can I land on the centerline?!?). Also, VNAV doesn't work. Not yet anyway. The Working Title CJ4 is the only one I know right now with functioning VNAV. I don't bother flying the tubeliners, that's not my thing.
  22. Wellllll, I “cheated” a bit by utilizing ILS glidescope. I enjoy flying IFR.
