Did it go through the activation at the end? If it did all of that, then you should have a folder called FSX under C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games if it is installed to default location. Find the folder, open it, right-click on the blue square with the aircraft on it that says "FSX.exe" and choose create a shortcut and send to desktop.
