Messerchmitt Bf 110 Heading East by August 1941!

Recommended Posts

Another great classic of WW2. Early in the day, a Messerchmitt Bf 110 is heading East by August 1941! A twin-engine heavy fighter and fighter-bomber, used by Germans since the beginning of WW2, 51 Bf 110s were still used during Operation Barbarossa -- the attack against Russia -- for ground-attack missions

Nice one Gérard. Lovely plane the Bf-110 I think it had not much chance against single engine fighters so they moved it into night fighting role.

Yes, the Bf 110 was a workhorse mostly until the Battle of England. After that it tended to be sidelined, and eventually ended like a night, radar defender against Allied bombing raids. A fine-looking plane however, I find
