FedEx MD11

Recommended Posts

Was about 120 miles out of Memphis and got my first routing from ATC and a Runtime Error popped up. I need to quit messing with my settings

David - I always thought you had good taste! I've had mine for a long time now, don't fly it as much as I should, really a nice flying aircraft for it's size!

Enjoy! - Rick

I had it quite a while ago. Just now reloaded it to the new computer. Redoing the flight now with my original settings to make sure I don’t have the same issue.

The plane does fly nice. I forgot how fast it can overspeed on takeoff if you’re not careful :D

Well, you got a nice set of shots of your MD11 before the Runtime Error occurred. I guess those packages never got delivered. Jim

LOL! They never made it. Ended up in a worm hole :D

David - I've never had the Runtime error before, and really, never had any OOM issues either. Just recently I have been running out of memory, and the computer shuts down! I guess it is time to bump up the memory from 8GB to 16GB. $54, i guess that is cheap enough fix?

Well, I’m not well versed in hardware. I tried that on my old computer and it didn’t seem to do much. Like I said, I really couldn’t advise anyone on that stuff.

Dommage! That looked like a great flight! Usually, that's those little gremlins in the machines :):):)

I redid the flight with the proper settings and it worked just fine. Wild stuff :D

What you have is nice David, but you need to read the riot act to that PC. :D

Thanks Larry. I do believe it’s the operator’s fault

Very nice pics of the MD-11! I've been on the MD-11 jumpseat many times over the years and never experienced any mechanical delays...until a week ago out of EWR. What a late night that ended up being. APU auto shut down after pushback caused all electrical systems to go out. Multiple faults popped up. Towed back in for 2 hours fix (replaced relays) and another weight and balance after multiple engine runs to clear faults. Second push back attempt there was a autobrake inop message. Oh boy. Had to get a deferral. We didn't touch down in MEM until 0315 a.m. In spite of the issues, the MD-11 sure is a fine work horse. That's why I love flying the PMDG MD-11 in the sim. Many of the real MD-11 jockeys I get the pleasure of riding with don't mind sharing fine points about this magnificent beast.

downwind wheres the md-11 at...fs2004 right?

Darren - Read your post, are you asking me if an MD-11 for fs2004 exists? Don't know without looking! I have FSX and so does David. I will do a quick look on the fs2004 section. You might have better luck checking with the HJG Group!

I'll let you know if I find anything on this site, I am not going to look at what HJG has!

Rick

There, I found this on this site's library.

You might have better luck checking with the HJG Group ....

.... I am not going to look at what HJG has

HJG don't offer the MD-11.

Nor the MD-10 either .... yet (well it "does", but, in FED EX DC-10-10CF/F and DC-10-30CF/F form, but, without the MD-11/EFIS type panel)

IMHO the best "free bee" MD-11's are those by IFDG .... which "are" available here at FS.COM .... and similar FS websites too.

Just search "MD-11" .... or alternatively .... "IFDG MD-11".

The model's not bad .... and there are some nice textures for it too ....

As for the FDE .... I don't know.

And panel-wise .... options are available from here'n'there, but, I'm reluctant/unable to recommend one in particular given certain the potential FDE/panel/gauge incompatibilities that can arise unless a simulation is "fully customised".
