Honus
Hi One of my user aircraft while in level flight is pitched slightly upward. Is there a parameter in the aircraft.cfg that I can change so the plane shows level in relation to the ground? Thanks
keefpee
Might depend on your airspeed, dont forget the wing needs an angle to create the lift. Not sure if there is a parameter in the cfg, but the air file lift curve table 404, or its later equivalent table 1545 would need shifting sideways a bit. lnuss
You didn't specify which aircraft or what your airspeed and altitude were, but at slower (indicated) airspeeds this is normal. And some aircraft will look that way even at somewhat higher airspeeds. Attempting to change that appearance is to make it unrealistic, unless the nose up is extreme. Note that many folks have made similar comments over the years, especially with jet airliners at higher altitudes, which is where it is most noticeable. But even a C-172 with no flaps and in level flight at 60-65 knots will show this. At "jet" altitudes (30,000+ feet) indicated airspeeds will be under 300 kts, sometimes under 200 kts, requiring a nose up attitude to maintain altitude. The sim reflects that. Just consider that you're learning more about real life aviation in dealing with this -- it's normal. Larry N. As Skylab would say: Remember: Aviation is NOT an exact Science!
