My New Robin DR400!

Recommended Posts

Hi! As my little independent airline is thrieving, that let's me time for more! :):) I decided to have a makeup for my Robin DR400, paint and some varied checks! (of course, it's a freeware, which came lately in two versions at simviation; I tweaked it further from my previous Robin)

Pics are from the free orbx airports package! all pics dated summer and all at French terrains

Yes, those folded wings are typical of the Robin. Albeit the Robin factory -now changed owner- is close to Dijon, and that I passed my PPL aboard that plane, I've not much details about that choice. Maybe aerodynamics! Before WW2, at the time of the Stukas, French Navy Air Force had a plane with such folded wings too

Gerard, I am very impressed with that little Robin, and the Airlines that you have started. I like the simplicity of the Robin, and the dihedral at the wing tips should make it a real pleasure to fly. More pics please.
Happiness is FSX Steam and Windows 7 . :)

Thanks sir! It will be a pleasure to post more pics of the Robin. Now it's still early spring, and not the full season of flying in the air clubs around :) On the other hand, yes it's a fine plane to fly. Very responsive! But I never flew any Cessna-equivalent. My opinion tends to be that Cessnas tend to prepare people to fly IFR, as the Robins have the kind of French furia, preparing to warplanes :pilot:

Thanks Jan!

:):) I have strictly no interest by the current Robin factory (located just a dozen of kilometers from Dijon). I had read at a while that they had had some structure defaults, which were cured since then

I have fine memories of that plane during my instruction course. Very sturdy! A king of GA Boeing! :):):)

Thanks Larry!

The paint, that time, is not from me. It's one coming default with the packages. Thus less to work!:cool:

Ahh, the first Robin of spring. Hopefully a sign of better weather to come.

Must be great visibility on those. As long as you aren't looking down. But who would do that when flying? -- Bob

Had never seen the pun! Robin is the designer's name (Pierre Robin).

Yes great visibility and as a pilot one's has to take advantage of it, looking at intervals and for every turn, for example in every direction. And French pilots of course never look to the ground, except to check they are on track :):):)

Sorry to be late for answer due to time shift

Yes that freeware, with some tweaks to my convenience seems great! Now waiting to fair weather to really fly it for leisure :pilot:
