Hi!

A N1K1-J Shiden in a dogfight over the Philippines by November 1944! A addition to my WW2 fighters collection albeit I'm not that accustomed to Japanese planes. They say that the N1K1-J, or 'George' :) could rival with the best U.S. fighters by 1944, which was had not become the case at the time of the Zeke -- best known under its name Zero

Looks like a plane worth the interest, with some tuning

I have seen this with a huge single pontoon and is called (Kyofu) I don't imagine it can do much with all of that parasite drag! Now with retractable undercarriage things turned out very different! How did you get her to fire the 20mms? Nice screenshot.

Great one Gerard!:eek::pilot: Did you notice Jim called you an old French guy? Not that's my business.... But still..... Oh, just a warning, it can be very dangerous to hit the "I"-key. Especially when you're not in the air. I know what I'm talking about....

Jim called you an old French guy? ...

No! Did he really?! :):):)

On the other hand thanks for the comment. And I didn't catch the I-key remark :p

This what I mean: My engines produced a lot of smoke, so I hit the "I" key and thought it was perhaps the solution, but I heard something fall from my plane and hit the ground. Seconds later hell broke loose cause the thing that left my plane said "BOOM". The whole place was set on fire and the bill from the fire brigade was HUGE :mad:

Oh! I see!

I myself owe a bill to the Brussels stand of the European Airlines. I have had the Shiden appear where my Boeings do. And the idea came to me that that plane maybe had some guns at the I key :):):) I mostly destroyed all the glass gallery! But, say, as I'm a customer of the terminal, that should settle between gentlemen!

" that should settle between gentlemen" Yeah, dream on! Parking your Japanese war plane at the gate! Destroying the whole scene! I think they'll throw you into the Bastille for at least 5 years! Only water and baguette! I only made a small hole in the runway and my precious German WW2 bomber turned to ashes. PUH! "between Gentlemen" Bwahaha!

Hey! you could argue that for that time, no water was involved in the accident. I wonder what a bomb released through the I key yields when released from a seaplane! :):):)

Interesting Japanese fighter plane Gérard. I had not seen one of those before.

Thanks Larry. I nearly missed your post, because it likely passed when I was answering Peer. I'm not that specialized in Japanese planes but they say it was, finally, the last fighter they issued, being on par with latest US planes (which the Zero was no more at the time). It also had a system based upon mercury which got the flaps out during dogfight, allowing for more swift turns!
