Jim Robinson
You're running 16 colors for one thing, I'll forfeit a couple hundred unusable frames for some eye candy and I think most would agree. See what you can do with the scenario here and I mean get it right, match your settings as close as possible and don't conveniently forget to load the same weather, etc. The default Skyhawk should approximate the aircraft I used closely enough. You'll need to run in DX10 with the fixer or the freeware shader files, stock DX10 won't cut it: http://cat-tamer.com/flightsim/atchmnts/fsx_p3d_comparison.html Let's see what FSUIPCs log file shows as your average, not the highest number you can catch a glimpse of on the frame counter. You should be able to beat my avg FPS with your card but I'll bet you can't maintain an avg 33 locked at 33 in FSUIPCs log file.

flybynumbers
You're running 16 colors for one thing, Oops...I didn't even notice that...I have changed it to 32 bit. Ok I have duplicated your display settings exactly. I could hold 30 fps stable...so I increased it...basically it locks comfortably at 60 fps. I can lock in at 100 fps with 32 bit resolution, direcet x and my display settings. At unlimited it jumps between 100-200 fps. However, I'm not sure I will stick with 32 bit or direct x...we'll see how it goes. http://www.flightsimulationguru.com/site/2008/02/18/directx-10-in-microsoft-flight-simulator-fsx-%E2%80%93-amazing-graphics-or-a-load-of-hot-air/ P.S. This test was run without the fixer. http://mutleyshangar.com/reviews/bc/dx10/dx10.htm 1000 fps at default settings!
Jim Robinson
DX10 without the fixer looks like finger painting, there's no comparison and since the fixer enables a lot of stuff that isn't there in default DX10 of course you're gonna see higher FPS. You're still not comparing apples to apples and we haven't seen your FSUIPC log yet. DX10 without the fixer may be hot air, I will agree with that, but I can say I'll never run DX9 again after seeing what DX10 with the fixer looks like. Have you OC'ed the CPU yet BTW? Really your machine with a mild OC would be better suited to P3D2 because they offloaded a lot of what FSX does on the CPU to the GPU which you could really take advantage of with the 780 ti. flybynumbers
I will try with the fixer and compare. I have never over clocked...no idea how to but can look into it. Thx 1000 fps at default settings!
flybynumbers
ok I have installed the directx fixer. Looks great...might have even improved fps. I did not run your test again...but with my settings I am cruising at 250 fps with REX textures and weather engine running. 1000 fps at default settings! mrzippy
That's why I'm confused. Where's the wrongdoing? Ah well.. Posted 26 October 2014 - 11:51 AM Having read your hardware specifications, under certain very constrained conditions it is within the realm of possibility to see such high frame rate numbers. But with the very narrow view from your video clip, for all we know there may well be nothing at all being displayed on the screen! But, that begs the question of just what the value of such numbers would be? It's not as though your monitor is capable of displaying anything above its highest refresh rate after all... Therefore it follows that the first, and now the second post has no useful value whatsoever. There's nothing of interest to discuss. This was the reason. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
