Umm... I do not even know how to explain this mess. Guess maybe I can just chalk it up to another bad day? Certainly looks like it's going to cost me $$$. -Glenn

Hahaha :D thanks guys! The cartoon reference was hysterically funny! And yes, I graduated from the aforementioned Dutchman's Flight School once upon a time... but that was a very long time ago. I appear to be a bit 'rusty'.

Judging by the surrounding growth, that plane's been there for at least 15 years.

Still looks in pretty good shape! Maybe you can clear out the brush and fly it out?

Thanks for the laugh Glenn. His Highness hasn't been providing his usual share of those lately. -- Bob

Hi there Glenn, a warm welcome back my friend! :) a little mishap I presume, and certainly not your fault. At least you're still dry

Bob, not correct, I posted this a few days ago. Also not my fault, there was a little misunderstanding about a short and a long runway.

Hey! I understand better. Just a question of what's below the plane, and color!

Casino always will be one of my favorites. Living in Vegas now, I love its history. This movie tells what it was like back in the day..

This movie tells what it was like back in the day..

Still goes on today. I do in fact have a unique experience with a Mafia "family" that shall remain nameless.

In fact, Las Vegas has about 6 encrypted channels in their radio system for organized crime. Most people just don't even think about it, but they are still very much out there and Casino skimming still goes on. I know that the Chicago Outfit (portrayed in Casino) has about 1,000 members and they have a web that goes from Chicago, Florida, Nebraska, San Diego and flipping Canada.

I actually had an actual moronic idiot of a shrink tell me if the Mafia kills you they take care of your family. WHAT AN IDIOT! They could care two Fs about you or your family. Dude doesn't know jack sht.

In a nut shell, "this thing of ours" is still a real problem, and the Pope a few years ago excommunicated them from the church.

Edit-

I got a laugh at that scene in Good Fellas. "How am I funny? Am I a clown? Do I amuse you?"

Yet the Chicago Outfit had their own clown.

Of course it was the Lucchese crime family portrayed in Good Fellas. Not the Chicago Outfit.

Anyway... The mafia subject is a big one for me.

You touched on another one of my favorites: Goodfellas.

That “you think I’m funny” scene was mostly ad libbed by Pesci, based on a real conversation he once overheard between two real life mobsters. Also, Pesci’s character, Tommy, was based on Tommy DeSimone, who was a huge guy in real life. (Over 6 foot tall) Pesci of course is significantly shorter..
