zswobbie1
What is considered to be the best clouds (& sky) for FS2004? I think the choices are Pablo Diaz's hdev2, Howard's TNW? Are there anything else I'm missing out on? There's also Boxcar's new sky set at sim-outhouse. Any ideas? Robin Cape Town, South Africa
JSMR
I'm guessing you're talking about freware options? https://fshub.io/airline/RUA/overview
zswobbie1
Yes, freeware options, our freeware guys need all the support we can give. Robin Cape Town, South Africa
JSMR
There hasn’t been a lot of cloud freeware available for some time I think for FS9. It would be great to see some new options. https://fshub.io/airline/RUA/overview
lmhariano
I'm using Howard's Mix TNW2017 clouds... just because I'm using the whole package (but trees, airport (Zinertek) and roads (I don't remember)). I'm not sure if Real Environment Pro is still available, you could try that one... Best regards, Luis Hernández
Skywatcher12
I've never yet settled on a cloud option. Haven't found one I'm happy with. Using HDEv2 but it's not perfect. May at some point just create my own. I would purchase REX soft clouds if it was still available. It's payware but possibly might've been the best FS9 option. Be nice if they made it x-payware for us FS9'ers! haha Mark Daniels
zswobbie1
Basically, I've done a separate Alaska/Canada sim, with Glacier Bay, Misty & Tongass Fjords, & I'm will be installing UT Alaska/Canada shortly. I've just made sure everything works before I start installing the additionals. I've put Zinertek Water & HDev2 aside for installing, as well as testing Howard's TNW within separate Texture & Scenery folders (I've backed up the originals, so I can always go back) I'll also be installing Lago's Georender 1-6 & Orcas Island & a couple of other stuff, including whatever BFU stuff I can find, to make my Alaska install unique. So, any ideas will be much appreciated. Robin Cape Town, South Africa
JSMR
These are really really good : http://www.skyforsim.ga/effects Dont forget to convert them to FS9 friendly like DXT3 or 32 bit (which look super good). The cumulus1 is fine at DXT3. Although the edges kinda have bands around them which I don't like. The cirrus looks strange with DXT3. I use 32 bit for the Cirrus. I use the 512 and convert them to 32 bit which look great. My GPU with a little OC seems to be able to handle it at that resolution. https://fshub.io/airline/RUA/overview

JSMR
i found the rex soft clouds for sale for 11.00 dollars. https://www.pcaviator.com/store/product.php?productid=20695 I had the REX soft clouds and thought they were pretty overrated. Nothing more then a dumbed down Cumulus1.bmp and thats it. The freeware ones I linked to are MUCH better. Probably some of the best I've seen, freeware or payware. https://fshub.io/airline/RUA/overview

Skywatcher12
i found the rex soft clouds for sale for 11.00 dollars. https://www.pcaviator.com/store/product.php?productid=20695 Thanks but I don't think a purchase would work. Once they pull a product they generally pull it from everywhere even though the product listing still might show in some places. I notice there is also an "Out of Stock" showing on the page. I understand it's a download but may mean you can't download it anymore. They are just trying to confuse people. haha These are really really good : http://www.skyforsim.ga/effects Thanks, look like they are worth a shot. 1biggles1
Hi you seem to me to be very disconcerting with regard to sky and clouds in particular, I am always on the lookout for simmers to improve The Natural World scenery and open to constructive advice to improve my software. If you feel you can do this then please email me. I don't know if you got it and I have never sent an email. PM me a link and I'll be happy to download it. It would be some time before I install it and take a look as I have a million things lined up to do in FS9. I'll never get bored of FS9, love it.
