TopgunB
I was on a 2 hour flight today sitting behind the left wing. I was watching flaps spoilers etc. For the life of me I could not see even a slight movement in the ailerons when the aircraft banked and turned left. Only left turns were made. Is it possible only rudder and elevators were used to turn left
lnuss
No. Either the ailerons or the spoilers were used (elevator for maintaining altitude, of course). For the gentle turns that airliners do, and especially at higher speeds, very little deflection is needed. Larry N. As Skylab would say: Remember: Aviation is NOT an exact Science!
