Stromer
I again started preparing for an expedition to Antarctica - Operation "Deep Freeze"... The first thing I did was prepare the airport Christchurch, so that it was a bit like the airport of those years. http://i.piccy.info/i9/9d7c63edbe11a80b30b722921c9c3b99/1529510041/139371/1249010/HZCH_Harewood_2_800.jpghttp://i.piccy.info/a3/2018-06-20-15-54/i9-12428313/782x546-r/i.gif http://i.piccy.info/i9/c3e06c55c7af22e50da55039c879f070/1529510092/69453/1249010/NZCH_800.jpghttp://i.piccy.info/a3/2018-06-20-15-54/i9-12428315/789x541-r/i.gif
Stromer
Today there was a trial flight. http://i.piccy.info/i9/d9c77871ee8bc55e4509629dc8b84c75/1529510393/30110/1249010/fsx_2018_06_12_15_03_26_29_800.jpghttp://i.piccy.info/a3/2018-06-20-15-59/i9-12428326/800x424-r/i.gif To verify navigation and fuel, a route was chosen: Chrischurch Airport - Auckland Islands - Christchurch Airport. http://i.piccy.info/i9/652c6ddea839c8fb1721157380c8f8cc/1529510339/46492/1249010/DF_map_2_800.jpghttp://i.piccy.info/a3/2018-06-20-15-59/i9-12428324/676x631-r/i.gif The total length of the route is 1020 nm. Fuel - 50%. Temperature: -20 -25C (practically corresponds to summer temperature in Antarctica). Stromer
Good preparation. Eager to see the flight down to Antarctica! You will definitely see. I'll upload the shots right during the flight. I do not know when the flight will take place. There are a few problems here: work, time, weather (I plan to fly with real weather). Vlad

Stromer
Thank you for your kind wishes, Michael! But this, for the time being, is an intrigue. The flight will not take place soon. Now it's winter and night there. Now I collect information about weather and navigation. Vlad
Stromer
As I wrote before, I plan to fly without GPS, and without peeking into interactive maps. Therefore, I began to study the map of magnetic declination. The main thing is to take the right course right after take-off. http://i.piccy.info/i9/ed7d2a3eacb5c15a194774544112345b/1529918253/29856/1245015/MD_NZ_II.jpghttp://i.piccy.info/a3/2018-06-25-09-17/i9-12438823/465x555-r/i.gif http://i.piccy.info/i9/c6869aa1945870f6dffcd270d6db274f/1529918390/91431/1245015/MD_NZ.pnghttp://i.piccy.info/a3/2018-06-25-09-19/i9-12438830/510x658-r/i.gif

flightsimg
astrocompass Mk.II. Now we need to test it Fine find that tool! Yes, at the time, for long haul flights, they were still using, I think, 'star navigation.' pilot: Gérard Guichard, Dijon, Burgundy, France. i5 Intel processor, 4 Go of Ram, Nvidia GeForce 920MX, DirectX 12.0, and FSX Gold Edition with SP1, SP2.
