Autosave

I can't remember the gauge or module that will auto save your flight periodically in case of system crash. From time to time my Sim will freeze and it's really disappointing after flying several hundred miles. I always have to move my plane to a location I think is the closet that I saw last on the GPS when I restart my flight.

FSUIPC4 has a autosave function that you can specify in seconds. Set mine for every 300 seconds (5 minutes). Don't remember if you need the paid/registered version though.
