vgbaron
ASN + Rex textures without question. ASN is a far superior weather engine if you are interested in accuracy. Rex textures are exceptional. A great combo. donnybalonny
I use a freeware set of textures and FSglobal realweather. Works very well and there is little fiddling around with programs, manuals, settings etc. Just install, push a few buttons and go fly.
Ragtopjohnny
I use Sim Savvy with it. Looks awesome with REX and also amazing with the cloud shadows. :) http://i120.photobucket.com/albums/o176/ragtopjohnny/NewSig.jpg http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-greet013.gif Checkout my new Facebook Page! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Airplane-Porn/1505438883035386 HP Z820 Workstation Intel Xeon 3.30ghz 8 Core Processor 2TB Hard Drive 16 gig of Ram 1125 Power Supply and 2 Gig Nvidia Geforce GTX 970. av8tor98
REX4 texture Direct + ASN for sure! I did use Opus for weather but always had problems with wind smoothing. ASN took care of that issue. Opus is now used only as a back-up. Alfons73
If I use Rex4 Texture Direct with integrated Soft Clouds + ASN , would it be also a good choice OR there is no need for Soft Clouds ? Alfons

vgbaron
Soft clouds are up to the individual. I like them myself BUT not all the time. Clutch Cargo
Right now I am actually using default sky, weather and clouds for awhile. Actually enjoying them. Wanting to get better acquainted with what 2.5 offers out of the box for future comparison. But I do have REX and Opus and planned to add REX soft clouds (with their Easter sale it's hard to not try them out), and plan to add them once the dust settles a little what with all the P3D patches of late. WebMaximus
There's a great set of freeware clouds that also work in P3Dv2 called HDEv2. Been using this package since I replaced FSX with P3Dv2 and I'm very happy with the result. I also use the included sky color textures which IMHO looks much more realistic and less "cartoonish" vs the sky color that comes out of the box with P3Dv2. For the sky textures they need to be converted first though from 24-bit -> 32-bit but that's quick and easy using some freeware graphics tool. For the weather engine...ASN all the way. http://www.virtualpilots.org/public/images/signatures/vpa071.png
