Hi,

Not to long ago i had a corrupted scenery file and had to rebuild it from a backup. Its now working except I'm not convinced NA is displaying correctly, i could be wrong.

I've noticed too many small ponds (lack of a better term), im sure it should be land but its gonna sound daft and need a second opinion.

Above is top of KDEN. Can someone do a comparison with theirs and see if mine is botched it someway? If it is i'll do a reinstall of NA.

Thanks

A scenery file will not corrupt a landclass file, except of the .bgl remains in the addon scenery folder rather than a specialised folder for that addon, which can be deleted or unchecked in the scenery menu.

It cannot do any harm to run Open LC again, but may want to run the latest FTX library update again as it could also be a texture issue. There is also the troubleshoot menu in FTX Central 2 that can also help identify any mismatch, or you can just re-run the migration tool.

Could I strip out openlc NA and reinstall it from scratch? I did an overwrite installation not to long ago. During seeking it replaced files which I assumed were missing or damaged. I'm rather tempted to remove it reinstall and apply updates. I think Europe maybe effected, as flying over Austria near Klagenfurt saw a couple of houses and trees in the air, I assume that's also related?

Why ever would you want to `strip out` Landclass? It's a simple addon (albeit a large one) and it isnt `stripped in` anyway, it's a single file (maybe a couple, I'm not in front of my sim box) added within the ORBX landclass folder for the whole of North America and then installed by the simple system of putting it above default LC in the sim scenery menu.

If you want it gone simply uncheck it. It's gone.

To my knowledge it does not overwrite a single file within the main FSX folder/file construct, it simply provides new files that supercede the default - which is why I am dubious this latest ballsup can be attributed to the addon. What DOES overwrite default files is FTX Global and the associated FTX Library files, which is why I suggested the library files as a preferable solution, and certainly as a first step... but that is what the troubleshoot operation within FTX does, so what happened when you ran that?

As for houses and trees in the air, no that has NOTHING to do with what we are talking about here. THAT is caused by errors in mesh or sim settings exceeding the ability of the system.
