mrzippy
OK, that doesn't look good! I'll let you do the Google search on that one. Type in "FSX nv3dappshext.dll error" leave off the quotes. Sure is a lot of answers on there dealing with Malware. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
liamr685
Its the only error i can find, others are just notes and what not. But that .dll is part of my GPU drivers. Nothing to worry about imo.
mallcott
As I said: Nothing to do with the sim and don't bother to search on FSX for that error, it's to do with the shell extensions for the cards Nvidia Control Panel. You don't mention whether you've tried a driver update, but now you should. Make it a clean install of the latest driver - 372.
jorgen.s.andersen
Mr. Zippy pointed towards a possible malware issue. I have had good results with AVG Anti-Virus (the paid version) and Malwarebytes (also the paid version). Both are unintrusive, and AVG replaces Windows Defender, which is a little too intrusive to my taste. BTW, is the GPU driver fully updated also? mallcott
Yes, my GPU driver is up to date. I said make a clean install of the latest driver. DDU and a clean install. You may have remnants of a previous driver from the basic Win 10 reinstallation.

liamr685
Nope, still freezes, got a lot further than I normally do, but it still freezing, this time whilst I was scrolling through the default GPS to get some ILS frequencies... liamr685
still no fix, but fault finding is going to be on hold, as my MoBo fried itself somehow today. Playing another game and everything dies, test my PSU as that was my initial thought, but that runs fine when under the paperclip test. So yeah, gotta wait for the whole RMA process before continuing with FSX fault finding.
liamr685
So I bought FSX steam... Test flight, with UK2000 EGCC and CLS 747. EGCC>EDDP, no issues. EDDP>EGCC, Game freezes like before, but this time on approach. So im guessing its now running out of VAS on approach to airports with scenery. Any fixes for this? Trying the same flight now and will see what happens.
epopchock
Windows 10 is up to date Version 1607 Build 14393.105 SSD With my OS is optimised HDD with FSX is defragged One drive is disabled Cortana is disabled, as far as I am aware Privacy setting are all turned off. Pause on task switch is off. It freezes completely, so much so I cant tab out, I cant even see the task manager to close it. I have to hit restart, or force restart by hitting the button on my PC Case. Same with me. This has been happening to me while trying to do a flight from New York JFK-VC Bird Intl Airport on the Caribbean island of Antigua and Barbuda. I thought that my flight plan file was corrupt, so I just overwrote the previous on with a new flight plan and resaved that flight to do later. Not sure if this will solve your issue, but it seemingly has solved other issues for me in the past.
