vegasjon
Hello all: I see a lot of folks starting to use AS for weather gen- is anyone doing this? I also heard that REX has better graphic generation but AS is best for the weather gen and also works with PMDG Wx radar...how do you run REX and AS without REX taking over the gen portion? JSkorna
Use AS16 and ASCA and you'll never look back. http://www.air-source.us/images/sigs/000219_195_jimskorna.png
evm
There is not one Rex and one ActiveSky. There are numerous different products from both Rex and Hifi (who make Active Sky). The most common combination currently is: - Rex 4 Texture direct - these are only textures = "graphics" with - ActiveSkyNext = only weather engine, no textures (or the new AS16 - same thing) They do not interfere with each other. One says where the clouds are and the other provides the pictures of the clouds. In the past there were - Rex Essential/OD: this had a weather engine too, not only textures - ActiveSky 2012: had textures too, not only weather engine And then there are Rex Soft Clouds (different cloud pictures) and the latest addition to the ActiveSky series are "Active Sky 2016" and "ActiveSkyCloudArt" (where the latter again provides cloud and sky textures). As evm states, there are numerous combinations of product from each manufacture, and with the exception of AS16 none of them are new. Suggesting further research would be justified.
