GPS is blank

Seems like only one other person on the internet has had this problem, and it went unsolved.

It's a really annoying problem since you lose a lot of information without it (ground speed, ETE, etc.).

People suggested a font may be missing, but that didn't appear to be the issue for this guy.

Any suggestions? The only thing I have recently installed is new aircraft, and the GPS appears blank on all aircraft.

I know there's another GPS type, but I couldn't find any aircraft that use the other default GPS (the one that isn't the garmin 500).

What aircraft? Maybe it replaced the stock GPS?

I installed two SGA MD80s, both SAS, however, one was only a repaint. The only "new" aircraft installed is the MD87, in SAS Star Alliance colors

Actually, I haven't even added the MD87 to my main FS9 folder yet.

It comes with the default 734 panel, but I replaced it with the MD80 panel by Marco Spada that I always use.

Also this behavior occurs in all aircraft.

Just curious....what if your fs9gps.cab (FS2004) got replaced by the FSX version of FS9gps.cab? I wonder if the GPS would show but wouldn't have a display?

Trying to think inside or outside the box! Any thoughts, Bean?

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️

Hmm, I suppose I could just get it from the discs and replace whatever I have at the moment. Although it appears the fs9gps.cab is the one that was modified in 2003; so it hasn't been changed or replaced since then.

Here are some things that I didn't "touch" but appeared to have been modified today.

And yes I did record a flight today (two flights).

TO make matters worse, the stupid aircraft flies around in a circle instead of flying the flight path.... it's incredibly annoying (I have the nav on, and set to GPS. I don't think it should be circling a VOR since I changed the frequency and still flew in circles long before it is at its destination).

EDIT: I logged off since I was done with the computer. I restarted the flight later and everything was back to normal... I guess that's really just the solution to it, isn't it :p ?

EDIT 2: However the problem still persists that the stupid autopilot flies some different course that isn't the flight plan. I've tried turning on the nav on and off and flipping the nav/gps switch back and forth (onto GPS), but it keeps ****ing up.

EDIT 3: I think it's just the joystick causing the mishaps.
