You are looking at a back course approach situation, where the back course is using the rear lobe of the ILS antennae array. The reverse sensing is solved by using the "BC" rather than the "Loc" or "App" selection on your autopilot or other display control panel.

The BC has no glide slope - though JFK may have been modernized, look at KBGR Bangor Maine as a good example. Notice that BC approaches show only localizer minimums on approach plates, as well.

Try some approaches, even in heavies - it was Dow AFB at one time, hosting KC-135s; lots of concrete available!

It still hosts Maine ANG or AFR 135's - appropriately known as the "Maine-iacs!

thank you mrzippy for your reply you are indeed correct however while flying the appr. to 4R the identifier is ijoc which is for 22R instead of IJFK which is for 4R which really causes havoc on the approach

Thanks for the clarification on that! I get that same situation at Washington-Dulles on certain approaches. I'll have to remember mikeandpatty's advice!

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️
