RFN Radar

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I downloaded RFN Radar (http://royalefrenchnavy.perso.sfr.fr/) and tried to install in one of the aircraft.

Unfortunately the instructions are in French language......so I don't fully understand them.

I do understand that I have to copy the RFN_Radar.dll file into the FSX gauges-folder. But next.....?

Can someone please help me and tell me in English what the correct procedure would be?

OK, it would have been nice to know which aircraft you are installing it in! Oh, well, no matter!

1. After putting that .dll into your FSX/Gauges folder now go to the panel folder of your aircraft...open that folder and then open your panel.cfg in Notepad.

2. Add the line WindowXX=RFN Radar to the next one in position. Change the XX to the next number in progression.

3. Add [WindowXX]

Background_color=0,0,0

type=special

size_mm=355,500

pixel_size=355,500

window_pos= 0.000, 0.150

visible=1

ident=10003

gauge00=RFN_Radar!PPI_CMD, 0, 0, 350,60

gauge01=RFN_Radar!PPI_Scope, 0, 60, 350,430

under the last [window.xx] in your .cfg.

I will post a sample of waht it looks like on one of the default aircraft....standby!

I used my Cessna 195 for the example. Added features in RED. I would bring up the popup window using Shift+8.

And again it's mr. Zippy :-)

It worked !

It seems your understanding of French is better than mine...

Thanks !

Hazet

You're welcome. My French ain't worth beans, but I'd like a nickel for every gauge I've downloaded and tried! ;)

Then you'd have a good $3.50 :D

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Go to the General section of the FSDT forums, there is a good write-up there concerning that gauge. Do a Search for the name of it. RFN Radar, or whatever. I read that a while back, but I can't recall what the BFD was about...

I do know it convinced me not to use it, though.

Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again!

Sorry, mr. Zippy, in the Netherlands we have Euro's.....

Would that be OK ?

Anyway, thanks for your help.

Hazet54

I have a Euro 10 cent coin sitting on the desk next to me. Maybe I should have said a dime! Not to mention the stack of Euros I'm taking to Sicily come June! I though there were only windmills and fvooden shoes (Had a guy from Nijmegen in a Singer/Friden business machine class in 1974) That's how he said wooden shoes, in the Netherlands.

@ Pat: Thanks for the tip to the FSDT forums. I'll certainly read it this afternoon.

@ Mr. Zippy: wooden shoes would be 'klompen' in Dutch....BTW: don't ever try to walk on them: it really hurts....

Thanks again, the both of you !
