Blurred ground textures - fsx.cfg?

Hi all,

My system is capable off performing great frame rates when taking off from complex add-on airports in planes like the Aerosoft Airbus Extended or PMDG Boeing NGXs. Everythings fine until some point during cruising - the ground textures get blurred. This could be acceptable if the textures got better on descend and ultimately final approach but yesterday I did a flight where the runway was completely blurred all the way till touchdown. I think that the textures may get better with a correct tweak in fsx.cfg but which setting is it that I need to change? Thanks a lot in advance - any help is much appreciated.

Before going the geeky file-tweaking route, try the simplest things first, namely by juggling the sliders and buttons on these two screens, that's what they're there for..:)

In this first one for example try different 'Filtering' settings, and also try disabling/enabling the Anti-aliasing box to see what happens

And in this second screen have a go with different slider settings.

NOTE- also play about with your ingame zoom setting with the = and - keys; I prefer zoom 0.60 because the sun and moon look about a realistic size, and the overall scene looks better-

PS- here are a couple of shots I just took, this one is with 'Filtering' set to 'Trilinear', and with the 'Anti-aliasing' box ticked.

Notice how the main highway and scenery is blurred in the distance-

And this one below is with 'Filtering' set to 'Anisotropic' and the 'Anti-aliasing' box still ticked.

Now the distant highway and scenery is much crisper.

So it's the 'Anisotropic' setting that crisps things up.

BUT it might crisp things up a little too much for some peoples systems and monitors and resolutions etc and produce some shimmering effects and/or degrade framerates, but try it anyway to see if you like it-

(For the record the shots were default "vanilla" FSX at 1360x768 monitor resolution and the plane is a freeware Dornier Do-X)

well in my case in which never was resolved on this forum was the ATC box Blurrier then after manipulating the anti aliasing and the others thing, it got fix the blurrier text . then I install some other planes plus some sceneries too and I ‘m back to square one with blurrier text on the ATC box.

Really I don’t know what to deal with this problem :(

Did you test your Sim after each thing you installed? Sounds like one of the new things installed is causing your blurriness. How about a screenshot of the blurry ATC box.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️
