About This File

MSFS Oversized Trees Workaround. This is a modified version of 10-asobo_species.xml file with some adjustments in size max and min tags in order to reduce the size of the trees. Adjustments have been made focused on Tropical and Semitropical vegetation but feel free to play the tags to adjust to your own preference. Please backup original file first! Credits to Matheus Monari for the XML changes. By Henrique Coelho.

The installation instructions are very wrong for steam version of MSFS not under user \ appdata at all. The correct file location is the x:\SteamLibrary\SteamApps\common\MicrosoftFlightSimulator\Packages folder

MSFS states for the Microsoft Flight Simulator launched in August, 2020. Abbreviation is following Flightsim.com Libraries naming.

 

Mr Jeffrey C, thank you for the comment. I%u00B4ve sent Mr Anderson an updated readme with correct path for Steam. My version came from windows store.

Steam edition user here, can't find 10-asobo_species.xml anywhere in my steam installation folder. It pops up in an un-used hard drive though, but not accessible; says 'file doesn't exist'. Ideas? This resized tree feature looks VERY good, would really like to use it.

I commented to Zendezk in the Alpha/ Bravo that Puerto Rico was well done, but there were many places in desperate need of a chainsaw! I thought my GE Nx's were going to be expensive chipper shredders if I was about 5 feet below glideslope at San Juan ry 10. Your program really managed the trees beautifully, and it feels much more realistic Great work!!! BTW, no degradation of performance in any way whatsoever.

Mick 99, Yes, there are many Microsoft Simulator versions out there. When we see MSFS now, it is the same as MSFS 2020, that is, the New Microsoft Flight Simulator released on August 18, 2020.
