X-Plane Bell Airacobra All Black 8th Fighter Group 1.0. This is a livery for the Bell Airacobra: BELL_P-39_AIRACOBRA.ZIP. Norman G. Morris commanded the 35th FS / 8th FG from October, 1942 to March, 1943. The uncommon all black livery of this aircraft, in all likelihood, hails from the period of protecting the Australian port of Townsville against night attacks by the Japanese as July turned into August in 1942. The Milne Bay marking was finished off with the letter "M", which partially obscured the original writing on the front. The letter was also the initial of not only the pilot's last name, but also his rank, and the name of his mechanic, S/Sgt Mattea. By Henk de Bruin.
