About This File

X-Plane 10 And 11 Scenery--EGMJ Little Gransden Airfield 1.0 UK. Little Gransden Airfield is an unlicensed airfield located near the village of Little Gransden, 5 NM southeast of St Neots, Cambridgeshire, England. This X-Plane version of the airfield is highly animated and includes a variety of moving objects. You will of course need the following the libraries to see it in its full glory: 3D People Library (3D_PEOPLE_LIBRARY.ZIP), CDB library (CDB_LIBRARY.ZIP), Ground Textures Library (GT_LIBRARY.ZIP), The Handy Object Library (THE_HANDY_OBJECTS_LIBRARY.ZIP), MisterX Library (MISTERX_LIBRARY.ZIP), World Model Library (WORLD2XPLANE.ZIP), OpenSceneryX (OPENSCENERYX.ZIP), PM Object Library (PM_LIBRARY.ZIP and RuScenery (RUSCENERY.ZIP). I notice you need 9 other zips to make this scenery work, well at least the uploader put the links in, seems a lot of trouble though for a small airfield.

Colin, this how the majority of sceneries in X-Plane work, i.e. they rely on third party object libraries. Had the author included these individually (if allowed) then the scenery would be considerably greater in size. Once libraries are installed in X-Plane, they are then referenced as needed.

Point taken Dom, I downloaded all the files needed, 1921.8MB in total, so yes it would have been a big file to download.

As oyu say once you have them then other ecenery should be easier to install, is there any particular order to install by the way?

Hi Colin,

It's normally good practice to have your X-Plane 'Custom Scenery' folder arranged so that mesh files are placed at the bottom, then object libraries, followed by any custom airports. This goes a long way in minimising any errors you might encounter on startup. In some ways it's very similar to the scenery library in MSFS, but instead of a graphical interface, you have a single file (also located in the 'Custom Scenery' folder) named: 'scenery_packs.ini' file. This can be edited (if required) with any good text editor and once you get the hang of it, it's a piece of cake. Hope this helps:D
