About This File

FSX Cessna 170B. In 1952, the Cessna 170 B was introduced featuring a new wing tapered outboard of the flaps, incorporating dihedral similar to the military version. The B model was equipped with very effective modified Fowler (slotted, rearward-traveling) wing flaps which deflect up to 40 degrees adapted from the C-305/Bird Dog. This is Alphasim freeware repainted and upgraded to FSX by A.F. Scrub.

I downloaded this aircraft but it didn't show up in FSX, when I changed the panel and sound it did, I wonder if it was really meant for FS2004, unless it was just my setup but other AC's I've added show up no problem.

Interesting to see if others have the same problem, other than that I like it.

Hi.

No problem installing and having it show up, but I ended up making some changes, like changing the Glazing at had some overdone reflections and some flight dynamic, RPM changes in the aircraft.cfg.

I am not sure if this is the best place to have this posted, moderators please delete / move if inappropriate.

Another fine model by AF Scrub. Thank you. TV

C170 Mods.

Note: I use 50%u0025 forward view ratio.

Files modified.

Glazing.dds Changed Transparency / Alpha channel to Black, to eliminate the overdone reflections. Save with MipMaps as .dds file

aircraft.cfg

[flight_tuning]

rudder_trim_effectiveness =1.0 // was 5.000

[propeller]

thrust_scalar =0.9 //was 1.0

gear_reduction_ratio= 0.93 // to reduce RPM to 2700 was 1.000

[Views]

eyepoint= -0.70, -0.95, 1.9 //(feet) longitudinal, lateral - 0.9, vertical distance was

2.0 from reference datum

Hi

nice aircraft would enjoy it more but my Norton's keeps deleting the gauges for the panel. It said that they are infected. Anyway to check that out and maybe resend the gauges .

I designed, built and painted this model as G-AORB for FS9 for Alphasim many moons ago. Nice to see it is still around.

When I downloaded this, it had no windscreen, anyone else had this problem? Been flying it, flies great, just looks weird not have the glass!

Thanks - Rick
