I need to know . . .

Yeah, what's the idea? A pin? If so, how much? $9.99 with $9.99 shipping? That's the usual. But the Gold one has a defect so maybe that one is $4.99 with $9.99 shipping? Ha.

Of course I am only pulling your leg. You might sell a million of them (if it goes viral). You never know.

Sorry. They're metal wings, 3" wide, suitable for pinning to your jacket, shirt, flightsuit . . .

I had a few hundred made a couple of decades ago; sold some, gave the rest away as promotional items. I was thinking of doing a production run and trying selling them again, but the manufacturer's minimums make for a pretty hefty investment.

In the past I've had reactions ranging from "Very cool!" to the barely printable. To get a better idea of any potential market, I put them up here for your consideration. I'd love to know what you think.

What I would do is put them on EBAY. There are a lot of collectors with a lot of spare ca$h there. World wide exposure too. And as such you would inevitably get the 'nut cases' that would want to return them (a headache). And you would have to spend additional money to buy the boxes for shipping. Here are 2 pics of collectibles from EBay. I only spent 5 min looking. There are TONS more in a bunch of categories.

Oh, I fixed the defect on the Gold pin. You can use the pic if you want (right click on pic and choose 'Copy Image', then 'Paste' into paint, etc). Cheers.

I nice thought, but "suitable for wearing" OUT IN PUBLIC?? Maybe at a Flightsim conference, convention or show.

I agree with this one.

At a Flight Sim Convention, good clean fun,

I am not even sure about a Halloween costume,

But at an Airport, they should stop you for impersonating a flight crew.

Times have changed, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse, but I do not see any appropriate venues to wear these "Out In Public".

Glad you asked first,

JD

My earlier post was somehow deleted, in which I said that 'Cape Virtual' the virtual club I belong to, presents wings to those that have passed our Virtual PPL, & it is recognised by AVA, The Association for Virtual Aviation. Our wings are an achievement award, & not a 'purchased award'.

Our club also mentors 60 kids, 30 juniors & 30 seniors, 'The Young Falcons', & the seniors get presented with wings when they have completed their 2 years.

So, wings should represent something, not just enthusiastic simmers.
