Settings for FSX on Parallels / Mac

Recommended Posts

I installed fsx on my win10 partition under parallels on a 2.66 GHz (Intel Core 2 Duo) MacBookPro (early 2011) with maxed out 8GB Memory and a SSD. Graphics card is a NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB.

Everything runs fine: start up screen, selection of free flight, BUT as soon as I hit the menu within FS, the screen turns black.

For days I tried almost everything (checked the direct version, setup of Parallesl 1 vs. 2 CPU, disabled nested virtualization, kept memory allocation within recommendations, etc. etc) to no avail...

Don't have anymore idea what I could try out..

Would appreciated any helpful hint how to solve this problem!

Thx, Horst

o.k. found quite some information about the UIAutomationCore.dll library file, black screens and freezes. Scary stuff...

One site was http://flightx.net/index.php?thread/49933-win-7-lösung-für-fsx-crash-nach-benutzung-des-kontext-menüs-bei-sichtwechseln/ and another oneI found somewhat helpful was also this German site http://www.fsx-info.de/der-flugsimulator-xstuerzt-unter-win-7-32-oder-64-bit-immer-ab/ (for those whom this makes sense) :-)

Thanks for the help.

You are getting UIAutomationcore.dll errors, put the UIautomationcore.dll version 6.0.6001.18000 or UIAutomationCore.dll version 6.0.5840.16386 in your main FSX folder.

Nowhere else. FSX will find it there and use it, without affecting any other programs

Put this UIautomationcore.dll version 6.0.6001.18000 in your main FSX folder. Nowhere else.

The sim will look for the file there first and run it for FSX only.

Other programs that need the Version: 7.0.0.0 uiautomationcore.dll will still have the one in system files and not be affected

Go to post# 3 for the download links.

Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!  ✈️
