When I set the autopilot, it's all fine apart from the vertical speed, now. When I set the vertical speed to example 2k feet a min. And I turn the autopilot on The nose highers right to the top and then stalls. Also ATC tell me that I'm climbing through 5k feet and I'm only at like 2k feet according to instruments >_> Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Also ATC tell me that I'm climbing through 5k feet and I'm only at like 2k feet according to instruments >_> Are they telling you that you are climbing thru 5k or are they telling you to climb to 5k? mallcott Posted August 13, 2016 Share Posted August 13, 2016 You're climbing too fast for the weight of the aircraft. Reduce the weight of the aircraft... Standard procedure for a 737 is to accelerate to climb speed BEFORE commencing to climb - so take-off; clean up; accelerate to around 230-250 knots and only then dial in 1,800 ft/min and engage climb mode. Monitor SPEED and if it drops below 230 slacken off the climb rate. The real aircraft can manage this for you under FLCH mode, where you can use the speed hold to maintain speed and accept the resulting climb rate but you don't have that option in the default 737.
