rshort
Hello, I am trying to replicate a resent crash at Upper Loon Creek U72. If possible, any direction as to where to find a file to load on the MSX simulator is much appreciated. I am also looking for a plane to load as well. The Cessna T210M file. Rupert
Hello, I am trying to replicate a resent crash at Upper Loon Creek U72. Thanks for the help on this. Ron Can't help a lot. But I did find Wikipedia saying , Cayuse Creek USFS Airport Challis U72 Upper Loon Creek USFS Airport Idaho which according to FSX is identified as 2ID7 and located at N46* 40.06' W115* 4.23' I'm not aware of any crash info. That's just where FSX says the airport is. Hope this helps a little! A link to the crash info from you would also be appreciated. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow. mrzippy
The only Cessna T210M available is from Carenado. http://mutleyshangar.com/reviews/ag/t210m/t210m.htm Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
Mithras
I'm pretty sure its included with the fabulous Orbx Central Rocky Mountains scenery. My current playground of dirt strips and impossible approaches in the Carenado 185F Bush version. Jim Robinson
What do you need? More accurate scenery? https://www.fullterrain.com/product/crm A Cessna 210? http://www.carenado.com/CarSite/Portal/index.php?accion=product&correl=60 You can buy them both in one transaction here, $57 USD for both, you could probably halve that if you waited for a sale on both products but it might be a while. http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?currency=USD&manufacturers_id=35&products_id=1845 http://www.flightsimstore.com/product_info.php?currency=USD&manufacturers_id=92&products_id=1754 Sorry about your brother. Mithras
Hi Ron, I hope you find the answers you are looking for. FSX is pretty good at letting you set the weather quite accurately to a certain condition. And for what you want to do do, you need forensic levels of detail in which case you have to buy the FTX /Orbx Central Rocky Mountain scenery. The accuracy is top notch, right down to sand banks and tree lines it really cannot be bettered. The airstrips, too, are rough and rugged with exactly the same difficulties in approaching and departing. Good luck. - Paul Elliott [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Come and follow my recreation of this historic light here: HERE
Rupert
Well that is certainly an exciting area of the US to fly a fixed wing in! I too use the FTX Rocky Mountain scenery & was shocked how difficult it is to land and take off especially at "ID84!" In fact, U72 was a huge challenge and I was only simming! I really missed my old CH-46 or even a Huey there. STOL TO THE MAX!! I just read the accident report posted. It sounded as though your brother was a truly interesting and active man! The world needs a lot more like him! May He Rest In Peace. Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
ScatterbrainKid
Pilot here writes an interesting piece about his experiences at Upper Loon Creek- https://disciplesofflight.com/upperloon-creek/ PS- I see the strip's altitude is 5500 feet, so I should imagine there'd be a lot to take into account to take off in the thin air, like enough engine rpm, the wind speed and direction, weight of pilot, passengers and luggage, air temperature etc..
