Yajvan
hello, this is becoming really annoying.. it spoils the realism and deviates me from playing. I had downloaded AI smooth 1.20 and still on approaching KLAX RWY 24R, a McDonnel Douglas overtook me. Then I was asked to follow it on final. Before touchdown, I was asked to go around. The AI smooth was saying that it was conflicting traffic with the MD. I know that AI smooth 1.20 "reduces" the number of go arounds. But is there any ATC addon or any other fix which nullifies go arounds? This default ATC is a complete retard.
kingnorris
I just ignore ATC and land anyway. CLX - SET Gaming Desktop - Intel Core i9 10850K - 32GB DDR4 3000GHz Memory - GeForce RTX 3060 Ti - 960GB SSD + 4TB HDD - Windows 11 Home

mallcott
ATC is there to guide spacing. You as the pilot are there to control it. Surely as soon as the AI comes past you declare your own go-around? Actually ATC is pretty good at pulling the AI off the bottom of the stack or separating individual aircraft, it just doesn't do it with speed instructions. If you are being inconvenienced by AI then your planning for the STAR or approach is what is faulty. Just as in the real world you have no god-given right to a straight-in approach, short of declaring an emergency. And that IS missing from ATC default. Yajvan
ATC is there to guide spacing. You as the pilot are there to control it. Surely as soon as the AI comes past you declare your own go-around? Well no. I am asked to descend to a lower altitude(lower than the AI aircraft) then you know, I need to reduce my speed and make last minute adjustments such as turning on auto spoilers and many more things. So basically, he was higher as well as faster than me. Then I was asked to follow it on final. Then the most annoying part "go around". How the planning for the approach is wrong. It was a vectors ILS approach and I had followed what the ATC's said. And yeah the air traffic was 70%-80%(when I looked at the skies and listened to the transmissions. In the options>Display>traffic it is 100%. I set like that so it would be a bit more realistic).
Signalman1
Here's a program that does a good job of speeding up the taxi speed of AI aircraft in FSX which, I've found reduces, but doesn't eliminate, those irritating go-arounds. http://www.wolfgang-picheta.de/ Click the English flag symbol on the right-hand side of the page to get the page in english, and then download: FlusFix-2006 V5.0 for FSX. mrzippy
Keep in mind going into KLAX, especially at the busy times of the day and evening, you will have to fight for a place in line. I found that even using AISmooth doesn't help that much so I stopped using it and found no major difficulties at KLAX, Chicago O'Hare, KJFK, etc. Now boring is a clear runway and exciting is landing on the tail of some ding-dong who cut in front of you!;) Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
