Aspromised the update will be made available free of charge, depictingthe current state of the airport. Including the new terminal, firestation and more! /images/notams/notams21/29pa1106/mykonos2.jpg /images/notams/notams21/29pa1106/mykonos3.jpg /images/notams/notams21/29pa1106/mykonos4.jpgAnother big question after Orbx's release of Skiathos is: What areour plans for Skiathos? Unfortunately, it does not make economicalsense to release a second rendition if there already is a decentproduct available. So our Skiathos will not come to MSFS, instead wewill focus on making Contrail the go-to platform for all simulatorsand further airport projects. Beside Mykonos (LGMK) we are activelyworking on Nuremberg (EDDN) in collaboration with LimeSim andCaptain7, followed by Twentynine Palms Airport (KTNP) and brand newprojects. Mykonos Airport is the international airport of the Greek island ofMykonos, located 4 km from the town of Mykonos. It serves flights todomestic and European metropolitan destinations due to the islandbeing a popular leisure destination. Source

Airport MykonosPublisher: AerosoftReview Author: MrYorkiesWorldSuggested Price: $14.99/images/fsc/wbicons/store-buy-now-button.png /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-01.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-02.jpgIntroductionHello everyone and welcome back toanother scenery review. My name is Jay, AKA MrYorkiesWorld, and thisis going to be my review of yet another amazing piece of scenerycoming from Aerosoft, courtesy of my good friend Dom Smith over atFlightSim.Com. Today, I'm going to be taking a look at Mykonos for MicrosoftFlight Simulator. It's one of those pieces of scenery that I've reallyenjoyed spending time on, purely because of how much I love Greece andthe Greek islands in general, both in real life and in the simulatoritself. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-03.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-04.jpgPersonally, when I load into MSFS, I seem to have a constant desireto fly somewhere warm and sunny, especially with all the doom andgloom of the last few years (it's the holiday we should havehad). That's one of the main reasons I love flying into and out ofMykonos - it really is a hidden gem in the sim and in the real worldas well. About The AirportSo, when it comes to Mykonos Airport (LGMK), the airport itself isan international airport in Greece, located around 4 km awayfrom the town of Mykonos itself. It sees a range of airlines coming inand out such as Air France, Lufthansa and TUI, among many others, andit sees traffic coming and going from places around the world such asLondon, Stockholm and Paris. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-05.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-06.jpgOverall, the airport saw movements of over 1.5 million passengersin 2019, with an obvious drop in passengers during the COVID-19pandemic in 2020 and 2021 - seeing around 400,000 to 450,000 passengermovements in the last two years. It only takes around 10 minutes to reach the town of Mykonos fromthe airport, which is great if you don't want to spend too much timetravelling to your hotel. There is a transit bus service providedduring the summer months, plus other transport options such as hirecar or taxi. Features, Graphics And ModellingProbably the most important aspect of a scenery such as this, ishow it looks in the simulator. You want one that replicates how goodMykonos and the airport itself look in real life. I was happy todiscover that this piece of scenery doesn't just cover the airportitself, but also comes with some additional details outside of theairport grounds, such as the Mykonos town windmills, which only addsto the immersion. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-07.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-08.jpgNot only this, but the scenery has other fine details such as anaccurate runway slope, custom runways and taxiways, custom boats andships scattered around, and a realistic rendition of the airportcarpark areas. Things like this might not be that important to some people, but Ilike to see these fine details being included with a piece of scenery,as it shows how thorough the developer is and how far they are willingto go to make a product as close to real life as possible. There are also three heliports included within the scenery. Theseinclude the army's heliport at the east of the airport, the marina'sheliport close to Ornos beach, and the Superior Air heliport close toKalo Livadi beach. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-09.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-10.jpgOther impressive aspects of the scenery include highly detailedrenditions of the terminal and airport buildings, a very realisticapron area, and animated apron vehicles which help to add an extralevel of immersion to your simulation. PerformanceAnother important aspect of any piece of scenery is how it performswithin the simulator. I was pleased to see that I was able to getbetween 40 and 50 fps in the simulator when using this scenery. I wasvery happy with this considering I am running the sim with High -Ultra settings at 4K with complex aircraft, and I would be confidentin saying that most users will probably be able to get a similarexperience in terms of fps. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-11.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-12.jpgWhen it comes to how smooth the simulator runs when using thisscenery, I was happy to see that for the most part I didn't really getmuch stuttering. The only stuttering I experienced was quite minisculeand was probably a result of running the simulator in 4K resolutionwith High - Ultra settings, and also using complex aircraft such asthe FlyByWire A320. At night, the performance was pretty much the same. I was stillable to get the 40 to 50 fps on average, and I would bet that you couldget even more performance out of the scenery at night by reducing yourgraphics settings a little. For example, at night, I tend to reducetexture quality and reflections, etc. as they're not really needed, and so I would assume you could bump up the fps quite significantly atnight in any circumstance using that method if you plan on doing anight flight in this scenery. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-13.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-14.jpgNight LightingNight lighting in the scenery looks pretty good actually. I findthat most of the time these types of scenery look great in the day butthen they struggle to pull off the same wow factor at night. In thiscase, I was actually quite surprised to see that Mykonos airportlooked really good at night. There isn't really much to show off in terms of the island itselfsurrounding the airport grounds which can be expected, but the apron, runway lights and taxiway signs seem to be well lit and look reallynice at night. The taxiway signage is not too bright which we dosometimes get with some sceneries, and I found it pretty easy tonavigate around and find my way to the gate at night straight afterlanding. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-15.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-16.jpgAccuracyIt's always interesting to compare scenery in a simulator with itsreal-world counterpart. I like to use Google or Bing Maps to get aview of the real airport, and then compare the same or similar shotsfrom the sim. I've never been that good at geography, so trying tofigure out how accurate something is from memory is pointless, but Iwas surprised to see that the airport itself is actually pretty closeto what you'd see in real life at Mykonos. The taxiways, runway numbers, stands and gates, etc. all seem tobe pretty accurate which is nice to see, and I wouldn't really expectanything less from Aerosoft since most of their scenery products arevery accurate renditions of the real world. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-17.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-18.jpgI did notice one or two slight discrepancies, especially withbuildings outside of the airport grounds and perhaps some of thevegetation, but I wasn't really fazed by this since it didn't reallyaffect my overall experience. There's a good chance anyway, that someof the discrepancies have something to do with the simulator itself, and not just the scenery product. Final VerdictI always like to wrap these reviews up with a final verdict becauseI feel when it comes to reading a long article or review, you cansometimes lose track of what the best and worst parts are. If you want a good rendition of Mykonos Airport, then this would bethe best product out there for MSFS at time of writing. It adds agreat deal of immersion by using accurate runways, taxiways, andgates, and it also comes with some of the surrounding areas around theairport as well, which only adds to the realism. /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-19.jpg /images/reviews/mykonos/t/aerosoft-mykonos-airport-20.jpgThe scenery looks great no matter what time of day or night, and interms of performance, you won't be disappointed to know that even in4K resolution, you can still get a pretty decent framerate with a nicesmooth overall experience. So, in my opinion, Aerosoft Airport Mykonos for MSFS is definitelysomething you should pick up for the simulator. The scenery currently costs $14.99, or approximately £10.87,and I really feel that you get good value for your money with thisscenery. Thanks again for reading, and I hope you enjoyed my short but tothe point review of Aerosoft - Airport Mykonos for MSFS. /images/reviews/mykonos/title3.jpgMrYorkiesWorld Purchase Aerosoft - Airport Mykonos For MSFS 2020 See other Aerosoft scenery for MSFS 2020

It servesflights to domestic and European metropolitan destinations due to theisland being a popular leisure destination. The airport first operated in 1971. It nowadays has a single runwaydesignated 16-34 which is connected to the apron via two smalltaxiways, so backtrack is needed for every departure and landing. /images/notams/notams21/myko0722/mykonos-1.jpgThe apron has been redesigned in 2020 to hold seven (7) parkingpositions, all of them requiring a pushback procedure.
