    Just Flight Piper Arrow IV is needed. This repaint shows Piper PA-28RT-201 Arrow IV of Motorfluggruppe Langenthal. Built 1980 with c/n 28R-8018039. Interior textures included. In August 2006, HB-PEO crashed on a training flight at Langenthal LSPL after take-off run. It touched ground again in a field and landed there. Aircrafts fuselage was heavily damaged. Nobody was injured, but aircraft was written-off. Installation Unzip and move it to your MSFS Community folder. Enjoy! Legal This repaint is freeware; you may use and modify it as you wish for your own use. It may not be used or sold for commercial purposes, nor published on any website that charges for downloading either directly or through a membership fee. As with our other MSFS aircraft, the Tomahawk has undergone an extensive upgrade to bring it up to the latest MSFS standards, especially in the areas of modelling and texturing. Work on those areas is very nearly complete as shown in these screenshots, with the focus now shifting to the systems coding, flight dynamics and sounds. Our testing team, including real-world Tomahawk pilots and instructors, have been evaluating all those visual upgrades whilst our sound artist recently spent the day recording a real Tomahawk for the brand new Wwise sound set. I was extremely keen to flythis aircraft in the sim, as only a few weeks earlier I had been giventhe opportunity to fly one for real. This vintage aircraft was first produced in the 1960s and sincethen has obtained a cult status within the general aviation sector. Afour-seater light aircraft, it is usually used for pilot training andfor personal use. Just Flight's version of the Piper Warrior focusses on the '161'variant. This was the last version of the Warrior II, rolling off theproduction line in 1977. The main difference between this model andearlier versions, was that it had the most powerful engine of theseries. InstallationInstalling Just Flight models is normally a breeze for me, howeverdue to some faults at my end, I have not been able to install thepackage into P3D v5 (even with the excellent help from the Just Flightsupport team). Despite them being rather basic compared tosome heavy-duty manuals included with larger, more complex aircraft,they are still highly informative. ExteriorThe Warrior II package from Just Flight comes with eight stunningliveries in total, three of which are UK registered, with the othersbeing from Australia, USA, France, Germany, and Canada. Both the modelling and the texturing of the aircraft is superb,with even rivets being visible on the numerous airframe panels. I've noticed with PA28's, that they tend to have overly largebeacon lights on the vertical stabiliser, and this is true of the JustFlight model. The Piper Warrior is very much a mechanical aircraft (none of yourfancy computerized equipment here), and that's really the impressionyou get with this model. Everywhere you look, there are metallicconnections at work, with the most prominent being for the flaps andelevators. When cross-referencing the cockpit ofthe Just Flight model with images and videos of the real aircraft, itwas clear to see that Just Flight had worked hard at trying to achieveas realistic appearance as possible. One thing to remember when looking at the images in this review, isthat on some PA28's (especially the Warrior III), they can have glasscockpits fitted. However, in the case of the Just Flight versionmodelled here, it is based on an original unaltered aircraft from the1970's, and as such, it retains its steam gauge appearance. Staying with the cockpit gauges, and I must say I was veryimpressed with how they appeared. Being 3D, they looked highlyauthentic, and when it came to their operation, they all seemed tofunction accurately. Flight ModelPerformance figures are realistic when referenced against the realaircraft, and this includes, rotation speeds, take-off roll, landingdistances, weights, and range performance. When flying the Just FlightPiper, I really got the sense that an incredible amount of detail wentinto getting the flight model just right, it's simply superb. Eventorque effect was simulated and behaved realistically. The aircraft systems are also worth mentioning as they are highlyrealistic. For example, you have an ammeter displaying load, (thisvaries depending on usage), carb heat which will affect engine RPM's,the need to use more primer on cold days, and fully working circuitbreakers. I really couldn't find anything wrong, everything justworked as it should. When it comes to how the aircraft performs in the air, I have tosay it feels very much like its real-life counterpart. It's very easyto fly straight and level, and even at low speeds, it is incrediblystable. Therewere no lags or spikes, no sudden FPS drops, no need to adjust mygraphics settings, the aircraft just performed really well.Remarkable when you consider the complexity of the model. ConclusionHaving learnt to fly in a Cessna 152, my knowledge and experienceof the PA28 (until reviewing this product), was rather limited.However, having recently had the opportunity to fly a real PiperWarrior, I must admit I am rather taken with the aircraft, somethingwhich is now firmly cemented, due to my experience with this model. This is an aircraft I can see myself taking countless flights in,it really is that good. Not only does the model look visuallyimpressive, but it also flies exceptionally well and performs great onmy somewhat limited system. Microsoft Flight Simulatoralready has a fantastic lighting engine that developers can use totheir advantage, which in this instance has been done with full wingand tail lighting, as well as a strong and bright landing and taxilight when low to and on the ground. Cockpit And InteriorAll three aircraft variants have the same cockpit layout with onlyminor differences between the Classic and Turbo models. In the 1960s, Piper Aircraft wanted to design aretractable gear aircraft to compete with Mooney, who was dominatingthe market in the complex single market. Piper assumed, and rightlyso, that their customer base for the new aircraft would be atransition market. They based the new Piper arrow off the existingCherokee airframe, and in 1967, the new PA-28R Arrow was born. The Arrow was targeted to pilots looking to move into a morecomplex aircraft but who did not have much experience in theseaircraft. For this reason, Piper added one of the best safety featuresfound on the aircraft, this being an automatic landing gear system,also featured in the Just Flight Arrow. It will retract and extend ata certain threshold to prevent gear up landings. It hasn't workedperfectly, and Piper offered a kit to disable the system, but mostpilots have left it as is. The Just Flight rendition of the Piper Arrow III is modeled afterG-BGKU, a 1978 Arrow III with a 200 HP Lycoming IO-360-C1C6 normallyaspirated engine, with the turbocharged variant coming as a paidaddition sometime in the near future. I have never had the chance tofly this aircraft in real life, though our airport has a 1972 PiperArrow with a G430 and that same red interior as seen in the JustFlight version. The only thing preventing me from flying it to get acomparison was its price tag, $120 an hour dry, plus $50 of fuel and$35 for an instructor (I'm not checked out in it). It would cost me$205 for an hour of flight time, something which I'm not keen on withless expensive options. As such, I will just have to base my opinionsoff of my current real-world flight experiences, and wait until 2022to fly the Arrow for my commercial certificate. Familiarizing yourself with theairspeeds, limitations, performance charts and systems is crucial tomaking a successful flight. The same can be said for a flightsimulator, and while there is no POH, Just Flight did provide much ofthe necessary information needed for the flight, including normal andemergency procedures, systems walkthroughs, and all the performancecharts for each phase of the flight. Having now had a look at the documentation, I loaded a flight withmy favorite livery included in the install, N4131C. I am met in thesim by a gorgeous representation straight from 1978, a welcomeaddition to the endless glass cockpits found in many of the defaultMSFS 2020 aircraft. Looking around, the model is incredibly detailed,and the texture work is simply fabulous, giving the aircraft a wornand lived in appearance. The exterior model is equally weathered anddetailed. It also gives the option for opening the doors which I quitelike, though I wish the baggage door could be opened via a click spotas well, like the main door for enhanced realism. Just Flight has done an excellent job capturing its sleeklines and quirks. They added many subtle details that can bediscovered in the preflight walk-around, including the mesh over theair inlets on the wings being slightly pushed in, lights, and smallbumps and imperfections on the fuselage. The texturing on the external model however is what really makesthis aircraft pop, as it's not clean. It shows signs of use in manyareas, and the textures really capture what the real aircraft lookslike. The landing gear for example has dirt and grime on the struts,doors, wheel wells, and tires. The underside of the fuselage has dirtand oil cast on it as well, just like the real aircraft I lookedat. Starting with the panel, the gauges areall 3D models which add depth, and the text is all easily readable,though slightly lower in resolution. The wear of many years offrequent use has taken a toll on the paint on the radios and flaplever, as well as the carpet, which has been slightly matted and hasdebris scattered on it. The back seats have that very typical "Piper"feel to them, with ashtrays added to the side wall. The baggagecompartment did not see any degradation in quality from the rest ofthe interior and looks quite nice as well. One thing I would like tosee is maybe an option to add baggage to the luggage compartment forsome additional eye candy. If you wish to have a bit less dirt on the windows and interior,Just Flight has made a version of the VC textures for a cleanercockpit, a nice addition! You are given three GPS options, these being theGPS100, GTN430 and GTN530, the latter two of which are the defaultMSFS 2020 models. They are compatible with the G430/530 mod however, andit is highly recommended to get it if you don't already have it. It isfree and will drastically improve your experience. Of the three GPS units, the GTN430 is by far my favorite, thoughmaybe I'm just being partial as I have the most experience with it inthe real world. I found the GPS100 to be hard to use and found myselfopting for one of the other options as I could not get it to type inanything, and the manual didn't really help much either. The headingindicator can also be switched out for an HSI, which I much prefer asit is coupled with the magnetic compass and does not recess. Thismakes instrument approaches much easier, removing the need to realignthe heading indicator every 10 minutes as well as giving vertical pathinformation directly to the pilot without needing to always look overat the CDI. /images/reviews/jfarrowm/t/just-flight-piper-arrow-24.jpg /images/reviews/jfarrowm/t/just-flight-piper-arrow-25.jpg /images/reviews/jfarrowm/t/just-flight-piper-arrow-26.jpgFlight Characteristics And SoundsOf all the aircraft I have flown in MSFS 2020 (the Just Flight modelbeing my first true add-on aircraft), it is safe to say that the Arrowis by far the best performing in regard to flight dynamics. It issmooth on the controls, easy to fly, easy to land, and easy tomaneuver. When performing stalls it behaves really well and feelsreally solid all around. It does have a tendency to turn if you don'twatch it closely, so don't expect to leave it straight and level, gomake a sandwich and come back to see it flying in the same way. The basic autopilot does the job somewhat well. It can track viaNAV, HDG, or OBS, and it has the all so common quirks of basicautopilots. The 172s I flew before the G1000 had a basic autopilotwhere even in NAV mode it liked to chase the heading bug if it wasn'twithin 30 degrees. The Arrow's autopilot has some of these quirks aswell. I found a couple of them on one of my flights where it decidedto turn to the left even with the heading bug set to the right. After5 seconds or so it realized its mistake and started turningright. While some might complain about how it's just a badly doneautopilot, I would say it's not a bug it's a feature, which gives theplane character and keeps you alert. The only downside I have found with the flight model is that youneed to turn off the ice simulation. I flew this airplane into a cloudand within a minute it turned into a stone, and as ice is not visibleon the Arrow, you don't know you have it until you can no longer holdaltitude or airspeed. This is partly Asobo's fault in its horribleicing characteristics. Other than that, it is a beautiful aircraft tofly. The audio samples that Just Flight have managed to include in thepackage are a true testament to quality sound design. I have neverfelt more immersed in a GA aircraft than the Arrow, and it is withouta doubt one of the best I have experienced. Having heard quite a fewArrows start up and takeoff, it is pretty much spot on in the audiodepartment. The interior sound design is incredible too, with eachknob, switch, lever, and button all having their own sound. The onlyimprovement I could recommend is to have the ability to get the"headset" sound when you click on the headset plugs. Perhapsthe most notable change from the Meridian's predecessors is the powerplant. With a landing distance over a 50 footobstacle of just 2,110 feet, the Meridian can land in many smallerairports making it an excellent choice for many pilots. This includes Normal Operating Procedures,Emergency Procedures, Performance Tables, Reference Speeds,Recommended Settings, and a basic guide of how to use the enhancedG1000 equipped in the airplane. It would have been nice to see atutorial flight provided, though the Normal Operating Procedures PDFwalks you through any relevant information you need to know. I didfind myself struggling to locate some of the items listed, and acouple of the items mentioned in the checklist did not function, suchas the oxygen test. The Carenado Meridian ships with five liveries and a blank whitelivery, presumably for repainting. Three liveries are from the UnitedStates, one from Germany, and one from the Czech Republic. Uponloading the aircraft into the simulator for the first time, I waspleasantly surprised to find how easy it was on FPS. I didn't find myselfusing this at all and found it rather annoying as it was present inall my screen shots. I found out later by accident that if you hoverover the GUI selector and scroll down, it adjusts the opacity and youcan remove it that way. That will be good to remember for my nextflight! Starting off with the whole aircraft in frame, Inoticed the slightly boxy yet sleek appearance this aircraft has. Itcarries a unique presence on the ramp and looks stunning from allangles. The attention to detail on every part of the model isincredible and makes the preflight walk-around an enjoyable experienceadding to the immersion of each and every flight. The rivets on theaircraft are not 3D, a detail which would have been nice to see. Theyare instead 2D with a bump map that gives them a 3D appearance whichlooks good as well and helps the FPS. Each aircraft livery folder contains two 4096 by 4096 PNGfiles. The result when applied to the aircraft model is very sharpfrom a distance, however the quality diminishes as you getcloser. When up close to the aircraft you can see the pixels making upthe stripes and rivets pretty clearly which reduces the immersionslightly. This can also be seen on the navigation and strobe lights. Ihad expected to see a transparent housing with 3D modeled lights butinstead was met by a 3D model with quite a low resolution texture ontop. This is a small complaint, and while slightly disappointing, itdoes not take too much away from the otherwise outstanding exteriormodel. Every singledetail down to the appearance of the leather stitching of the Meridianlogo on the leather seats is given attention. The appearance of thecabin during dawn and dusk hours is absolutely incredible, and thehigh quality materials from the real aircraft carried into thesimulator with a result that makes you say "wow". The tray table, windowshades, lights, textures, and reflections just make this aircraft sonice to look at. Moving to the cockpit the same stunning level of detail spills intothe switches, knobs, and circuit panels. The leather on the yoke,seats, side paneling, and glareshield bring the quality of the realaircraft right into the simulator and you really feel like you areflying a 2 million dollar airplane. The night lighting on the interiorlooks superb. It is highly customizable and gives you a lot of optionsto fit your needs. There are a couple issues I found in the interior that were lackinghowever. The first is the reflections on the glass displays and theshine on the panel. The reflections felt very fake and a littleimmersion was lost there. The G1000 panel textures are also lowerresolution than the rest of the panel and are quite noticeable whenviewed up close. The second downside which bothered me were thegauges. The standby instruments seem quite low resolution compared tothe rest of the aircraft, and the G1000s become blurry when viewedfrom an angle. This creates a very fake looking scene when viewed atsharp angles. I however have never flown a G1000 equipped airplane, and whilethere was a learning curve, Carenado provided a great manual to helpwalk me through using their enhanced G1000. The MFD, using the G1000system has a GCU 475 which is used in place of the standard controlsfound on the G1000 bezel. The issue I have however, is that the GCU isquite limited in its functionality. You can only use the knobs toenter data and waypoints into the G1000. The keypad and number padhave no function and you are restricted to using the standard methodof data entry, something which could have been modeled without toomuch extra effort. The GCU modeled in the interior cockpit on thepedestal also has no use and is only a hot spot to click the 2D GCUpanel open. A little bit of a letdown there. The autopilot panel worksin the 3D cockpit and also includes a 2D pop up through the GUI,though I did not find myself using it. The depth of the systems on the airplane are where some might beginto feel disappointed. It has enough systems modeled to make a flightfrom startup to shutdown, but in terms of the ability to do emergencyprocedures, you will be limited. It's not a fastclimber by any means, and at sea level and standard temperature enjoysa stable climb at 1600 fpm. This degrades considerably the higher yougo, as is to be expected, and by the time you reach 18,000 feet, itdegrades to an 800 fpm climb. It is a pleasant experience to hand flyand I found myself not reaching for the autopilot right afterdeparture but rather enjoying the flight myself. During cruise itflies well, cruising around 220 KTAS while sipping just 23 gallons ofJet-A per hour, quite reasonable! Comparing it to the charts it wasquite accurate and I had no issues with the performance. Landing characteristics are a different story compared to the restof the flight. I have made around 50 or so landings between flyingpatterns and actual flights and I had maybe 12 or so smoothlandings. It is hard to control at slower speeds and even at therecommended approach speed of 85 kts it is a bit harder to control. Ifound adding 5 kts helped with this but it is still a littleinteresting on the approach. The sounds of the airplane are very well done and it sounds justspectacular in both the interior and exterior. The buttons and enginealarms and warnings are all high quality and give the Meridian anotherlevel of immersion. I did find that when using the GUI to open thepassenger door, the sound of the door opening would play, however whenopening it using the click spot the sound did not play. I could notfigure out what caused the issue but that was the only error I foundwith the sounds. There are a few downsides, such as the G1000 gaugeblurriness and GCU functionality, but this does not detract much froman otherwise beautiful plane. It runs very well on high settings withmy somewhat modest rig, and I only had performance dips in heavyclouds. This is with default X-Plane however, so if you do run it withSkymaxx Pro or another intensive weather program you may experience alower frame rate. Be sure to check to make sure your PC can handlethis aircraft before purchasing, but from my experience it isrelatively easy on your FPS and is quite flyable. The Carenado Piper PA46 500TP Meridian has a price tag of US$34.95, which is pretty standard for most Carenado products. While notoverly expensive, it is not cheap either so if you are expecting ahighly detailed systems simulation that replicates all the smalldetails and failures associated with the airplane, you will bedisappointed. If however you are looking for a new light turboprop toenjoy flying and don't want to break the bank with the Hot Start TBM900, this is the airplane for you. It has great performance and canstill make it into the small GA airports, a characteristic you will besure to love.
