Hi, wonder if anyone can give me a hint. I've been Flying P3D / FSX for years and know all the key functions in my dreams. With MSFS I just can't fly it like I used to. Does anybody know or at least have an idea how to implement the same steering functions of FSX for MSFS. A small program to just transfer all settings would be a dream, of course. Any hint is highly welcome. Thank you. Heinz

My old computer broke. Got a new and powerful one after about a month. Reinstalled FS2020 using steam and then discovered that something had happened to all the controls? (Se picture). Whatever key i press nothing happens? Anyone who knows?

You can click on the image to enlarge it in a separate window to better see the differences. I don't know about you, but I'm going to use this to better tweak my settings and prioritize which settings I care more about and reduce the settings on those that I don't care so much about. I hope this helps you as much as it's going to help me. I was landing in LGA last night and...wow...my sim almost turned into a slide show when I was trying to check out the NYC skyline. -
Hi there! Is there a way to save your settings in fs2020 because always when i start up the sim my trim settings for example is always at 13% and the drone speed is set to very slow. Maybe some kind of cfg-file you have to change to do that or? Best regards.

I am having an issue with the in game graphic settings not saving in between launches. I set all my graphic settings where I want, after restarting sim it reverts to what was there prior to me saving. Initially I thought this was due to the Nividia Experience taking over the settings but I have since uninstalled Nividia Experience and reset the Nividia graphics MSGS2020 program settings. Same thing happens every time I restart the sim. Settings will not save. Any ideas are appreciated, as it is frustrating to have to input my setting every restart. Thanks -
What Settings Do I Use in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 Preview Build? By MrYorkiesWorld Today's short video will be showing off the settings that I currently use in the preview build of Microsoft Flight Simulator. Please note: Although it is everyone's expectation to be able to max out settings in this simulator using a 2080ti, we do sometimes run back into the same issues we did with P3D and X-Plane which is stutter among other things (at least in my case). Please also bear in mind the use of AA. Even with a 2080ti, 1080pneeds the use of AA to get the best visual quality, which can reduce performance further regardless of the type of GPU. The key is to balance the settings so that you can great quality, but also smooth frame rates, and low temperatures to prolong the life of the GPU. In my case, this is the balance that works well for me currently in this preview version of the sim. Another thing to take into account is that this is the base version of the simulator, and still a preview at that. Most people will likely need to turn back their settings once third part add-ons such as Orbx scenery, PMDG aircraft, etc. start to be released. This video, along with the others on my channel that feature the sim can be used as a general guide as to roughly what to expect from the final release version of the simulator, both in terms of performance based on the settings shown and my hardware. However please bear in mind that things can change dramatically between now and the 18th of August 2020, and so the performance you see in this Preview Build using these settings might be completely different to what you see in the final version. Hey guys, I was wondering what 'near-to-perfect' or optimum slider setting could be set for the sensitivity and null zone sliders in FSX for the rudder specifically.. I fly larger civilian aircraft such as the B737/A320/B777 mostly and with my current slider settings, it causes very "immediate"/unrealistic responses on the rudder of the respective aircrafts. Example being, if I even slightly turn the rudder axis on my joystick to the right, instead of the rudder on the aircraft turning to the right slightly in an increment, it veers completely to the right. I wanted to 'smoothen out' the reactions. Are there any appropriate slider settings for this anyone could share? Currently my sliders for the rudder are set at a notch to the right (almost none) for the sensitivity and almost a notch away from the left (so almost completely) for the null zone. Any help is appreciated, thanks in advance guys!

X-Plane 11 And Low End Systems By Dominic Smith There's no denying it, X-Plane 11 is simply gorgeous to look at! With the right hardware, it looks simply stunning, and even if you're a hardened MSFS fan, it's extremely difficult to ignore the incredible visuals scattered around the internet. However, as mentioned, that's with the right hardware! What about those with less capable systems? For many simmers out there (especially those with slightly older FS2004 and FSX setups), the jump to X-Plane 11 can often lead to a huge disappointment. The reason being, is that MSFS is predominately CPU dependent, and as such, you can get away with a good/high frequency CPU and a relatively weak GPU (by today's standards). Unfortunately, this way of thinking doesn't really carry over to Laminar Research's latest offering, as the GPU takes a much more important role in how the simulator performs. With X-Plane 11, you need quite a bit of power from both your CPU and GPU, which from a monetary perspective, is less than ideal for many simmers, as high end graphics cards can turn out to be pretty expensive. However, all is not lost, as even with low end hardware, there is quite a lot you can do to turn things in your favor. Now, before I get into the nitty gritty, I must point out that I am far from being an X-Plane expert; I am what you would call a passionate enthusiast, and the tips below are what I have used when using my MacBook Pro away from home. So...if you're not already an X-Plane 11 user, why not download the demo from the link below, and see if the following article helps improve your enjoyment: https://www.x-plane.com/desktop/try-it/ Once installed and loaded up, you'll find all of the options below, in the 'Graphics' tab in the X-Plane menu. Rendering options Visual Effects This is GPU focused and requires a fair amount of processing power from your graphics card. HDR and above looks great, but comes at a price. If you have integrated graphics (Intel or AMD) or a low end dedicated GPU, use this option with caution. Visual effects low Visual effects high Texture Quality Texture quality, means what it says - it controls how nice your textures look, and is highly dependent on VRAM (Video Memory) and with X-Plane, you need a fair amount for it to look at its best. If you have a 2 GB card or less, you're going to start struggling, but if you're clever, you can get away with quite a bit. For example, if you're a heavy metal flyer, you can keep the textures at modest levels and still get great enjoyment from the sim. The simple reason being, the difference in texture quality is less pronounced at high altitudes. For GA pilots who enjoy flying low, and where the sharpness of ground textures is more important, the key is to be realistic about what you can achieve from your available video memory. If you want your ground scenery to look sharp, then you're going to have to use an aircraft which doesn't eat up all your resources. This means HD textures, and a complicated 3D model are definitely out. Unfortunately, whilst Carenado, Alabeo and Just Flight (to name a few), make some absolutely gorgeous models; for those with limited hardware, they are a big no no, as they would simply consume too much VRAM. When it comes to payware aircraft that are easy on frame rates, I would highly recommend looking at aircraft from STMA (Shade Tree Micro Aviation). While not quite at the same graphical level of those mentioned above, their models still look very nice and fly superbly. Another aircraft developer who specialises in frame rate friendly aircraft is X-Hangar. Being nice and light on resources, these models are ideally suited to low end systems. However, you don't necessarily have to go down the payware route for your aircraft needs, as there are plenty of quality freeware models that are hardware friendly; the Cub and Super Cub by Alex Jenns (A-Pilot) are two that immediately come to mind. Texture quality minimum Texture quality maximum Antialiasing Antialiasing is where the GPU attempts to smooth out lines and do away with the horrible jagged edges quite often seen at low settings. Whilst enabling it looks good, it requires a lot of GPU power, as the technique is effectively, displaying the resolution at twice the size. So what can you do in this case? Well, if you have a low end GPU, but your screen resolution, relative to monitor size is quite high, then I suggest not having it on at all, as your PPI (pixels per inch) will help reduce the jagged lines. If you have something like a 21 inch monitor, and run X-Plane at 1080p, then enabling it means you will have to make sacrifices elsewhere - namely texture quality and visual effects. As you can see, with limited VRAM, it's all about making compromises. Anti-aliasing off Anti-aliasing on Draw Shadows On Scenery This is another option, that when enabled, causes a huge drop in frame rates on lower end hardware. Keep this turned off at all costs! Shadows off Shadows on Field Of View X-Plane's field of view is another area that can effect frame rates, but luckily, we have control over it. The thing to remember here is: the wider the view, the more objects your GPU has to render; so if you feel that you could do with a few more FPS, try lowering the degrees in the "Lateral field of view" option. FOV default FOV 30 FOV 90 Number Of World Objects Unlike the settings mentioned above, this option is, for the most part, linked to your CPU. The more objects displayed on screen, the harder your CPU has to work. In this case, CPU frequency and number of cores, make the biggest difference. Having a relatively high end CPU coupled with a low end GPU, means you can (with all probability) display a good number of objects on screen, albeit, with low detail/texture settings. Number of objects minimum Number of objects low Number of objects medium Number of objects maximum Reflection Detail This is another setting which takes up a lot of GPU processing power. In fact, if you have a low to middle of the road graphics card, I highly suggest not using it all. Sure, it makes the water look pretty, and adds reflective surfaces to your aircraft, but for me personally, I think the performance gains from not using it (on low end hardware), far outweighs its visual attributes. Reflections minimum Reflections maximum Parked Aircraft Visiting a large airport in X-Plane uses a large amount of system resources, so if you're limited in this area, give your system a helping hand by turning off 'Parked Aircraft'. By doing this, you are freeing up VRAM and giving your system less objects to draw. Parked aircraft off Parked aircraft on Monitoring Frame Rates Located in the 'Data Output' tab of the X-Plane menu, are a series of options which can be displayed on screen during flight. Many of these options might look totally alien to you, but don't worry, as we are only concentrating on one today. The option we are interested in is the frame rate option. When this is selected with a tick, it will display X-Plane's current frame rate in the top left of the screen. Data output One More Thing... Finally, there's one more important step you can take to help improve your performance, and it relates to the AI aircraft that are loaded up by default with a 'vanilla' install of X-Plane 11. As mentioned above, the more there is to draw, the more resources are taken up, and that holds true with AI aircraft. In the aircraft selection menu, you will see at the top of the screen, a tab for AI aircraft. Go into this, and deselect each and every one. Removing these additional aircraft greatly frees up both CPU and GPU resources, and gives your system a little bit more room to play with. AI aircraft So there you have it, a few basic tips to hopefully help create a more fluid X-Plane experience.
