daspinall
Upgrade from what? The RX5600 XT? Yes, could be a good upgrade. Thanks, I bought it but have to wait until tomorrow for the cooling sys to arrive so I can install it... This card cost me £839.99 plus another £110 for a cooling sys kit! I think I'm mad I would never normally pay this amount for a GPU!!!!! But times are desperate I guess.... the 5600 is a good card and runs the sim ok but not too good with VR on top of that..... so all good this end I now have a monster gaming machine!!!!! or will have tomorrow when all is installed........ daspinall
All plumbed in and water-cooled..... I've not even overclocked the GPU yet.... and by the benchmark test, There is no need too! ColR1948
Might be a daft question but does the card run without the cooling system? What I mean is if it won't run without the cooling system then why do they sell it separate, I'm new to this side of things so forgive my ignorance? Col. daspinall
This card, EKWB, is only for water coolers, there are many air cooler 3070's out there... you will either own a cooling sys or going to buy one.... I now have two cooling systems one for the CPU and one for the GPU, you can loop them both on one cooling sys which most people do.... I thought about it and didn't like the idea of sharing a cooler with CPU and GPU so I have separate cooling systems.... It's more costly but the performance is outrageous ..... The card itself has a water cooler kit factory installed which is featured in the above photo, which you could take off and replace with fans. But why anyone would do that I have no idea Overclocked the 3070 card, final benchmark score Edited January 13, 2022 by daspinall ASRock X570 TAICHI Mother Board AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 3.79 GHz *Overclocked* Corsair 240mm H100i ELITE CAPELLIX RGB Intel/AMD CPU Liquid Cooler Corsair DOMINATOR PLATINUM RGB 64GB 3600MHz *Overclocked* MSI NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 Ti 24GB SUPRIM X Ampere. 1000W PSU. ColR1948
I was reading about the prices of GPU's because of this crypto mining, but the last one I read it is settling down a bit and possibly we may see the prices drop but as you know once a price gets set it can become the norm so hopefully they will come down. Also read about fake GPU's as well, I believe they put a cover shield on them to look like a high end GPU and an sticker on the bottom saying it an XXXGPU but if opened up they reveal to be low end GPU. Col. I always buy my stuff from ScanUK, I've never had any problems or fake stuff from a reputable dealer... One of the biggest performance killers for PC's is heat. Liquid cooling your CPU and GPU will always give you superior performance over Air cooled systems.... I'm loving this rig now.. Not everyone is into water cooling and that's most likely why this card was available at ScanUK.... Col. I read yesterday Kosovo has banned crypto mining because of the high use of energy on the country... Other countries may follow....... I will keep an eye on this....... LHR has no effect on gaming from what I can gather, correct me if I'm wrong..... IMO this move can only up the price of Cryptocurrency creating more greedy miners with no end in sight, and most likely it will go underground! ColR1948
I just saw a website that had links to US stores and as they were getting GPU's in stock they were being bought up, course the store doesn't care as long as someone is buying, they will love this.
