sparky347
How hard would it be to move FSX (everything .EG missions rewards etc) from my C-drive to an external SSD D: drive? And then uninstall FSX from my C drive
lnuss
Not difficult, assuming your D: drive is online, but it will take a while to copy, depending on how many add-ons and other things. HOWEVER, this leaves a loose end: The registry. So unless the D: drive will become the C: drive you'll need to figure out how to change the registry entries to reflect the new location, and it's possible that one or more things within the FSX structure may need some change, perhaps text files (*.cfg, etc) to edit with the new drive name, again depending on what you have installed. So some things might work right off the bat and other things might need some work. Larry N. As Skylab would say: Remember: Aviation is NOT an exact Science! f16jockey_2
I moved FSX from my D: to a new H: SSD. Then I fooled Windows by creating a symbolic link from the new location on H: to exactly the location on the D: drive where FSX was before. sparky347
Ok thanks and Inuss . Not computer savvy enough to try this myself . But will show my son your comments . He may be able to . Not sure id you read my other post about Msfs 2020 screwing up my joysticks where my computer won't recognize my joysticks in FSX anymore . I know FSX has been done to death but I really don't want to get rid of it yet .
gt401964
I use this. It is a freeware version and very thorough and easy to use. https://www.easeus.com/backup-recovery/windows-10-disk-clone.html I have used it a few times to do exactly what you are asking to do.
