arobiz
I need Help guys, I have a strong enough computer to run Microsoft flight X, after installation (into a separate drive, not main drive) I get windows crashing upon exiting flight. PhantomTweak
May I ask just when, during the use of the sim, does it crash? Before the main screen? After flying along for a while? Also, have you added scenery, aircraft, effects, gauges or anything like that recently? Is it located on C: drive, in C:\Program Files (X86), by any chance? Do you rclick on the FSX.exe file and select Run As Administrator? Or do you have a shortcut to it with Run As Admin chosen in the Advanced Properties area? All this info will help to track the problem down... Pat☺ [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Had a thought...then there was the smell of something burning, and sparks, and then a big fire, and then the lights went out! I guess I better not do that again! PhantomTweak
Well, that helps narrow it down, some, thank you :) Have you tried uninstalling things you have added on, starting with the last thing you added, and working backward from there? That frequently will isolate the problem fairly quickly. Also, perhaps you just need to decrease the sliders a little? Scenery Complexity, 3D Cloud Density, Commercial Air Traffic, etc etc? Sometimes, that's all it takes. Have you tried putting Kosta's Tweaks into the FSX.CFG file, one at a time? There is a thread stickied at the top of the FSX forum about it. Sometimes, a simple .cfg tweak will fix these problems. Let us know how things go! mrzippy
Work with your posting in FSX. This STICKY should not be used for trying to figure out the fix. Just post the fix, if found! Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!

Johnny Boy the Pilot
My old FSX crashed many times while I was flying, but my new FSX Steam hasn't crashed once. I'm also using windows 7, which runs my FSX better then Windows 10 ever did.
dene
Hi to all, I dont know if is this right place, but I have problem with scenery from BDO Aviation "Lamezia Terme - LICA." 4 days ago I bought PMDG b737 and now I wanna flying from little airports where is simply taxiing etc. Aircraft work perfectly, any airports in my FSX like EDDM, EDDH, LKPR, LEBL etc. work perfectly, but when I bought and installed LICA scenery, and if I want load this airport, FSX permanently crash. I reinstall this scenery several times, but nothing help. When FSX loading there is this notice: "SCENERY.CFG file error. Local scenery directory (Addon scenery/SCENERY) in scenery Area.121 not found. Click OK to continue." I use Pro ATC X and I relign this scenery. When scenery loaded, there is crash notification on the display, aircraft is in the incorrect position on the gate and taxi lines. So, what do you think? Its only 15 eur, but still... longbreak
Just made a major mistake and allowed Microsoft to install Windows 11. Subsequently FSX no longer works just remains on the initial splash screen forever. Fortunately I was able to roll back to Windows 10. That's it for me. Windows 11 is a virus. Warning to other users not to fall for Windows 11 if they wnt to keep running FSX. Cheers Bazza
