Frank82
As a fairly new simmer I have been practicing approaches over and over, watched numerous YouTube videos, on bonanza g36, Kodiak 1000, Tbm 930, and Milviz 310. ILS approaches are not perfect but do work. However, no matter what I do, (ie approach mode on AP or not), still can’t regularly capture the glidepath. I accept that it’s me but don’t know what else to try. Would greatly appreciate anyone’s help and how they solved this problem.
tiger1962
For an RNAV Approach, keep the G1000 NXi in "GPS" mode and only switch the Autopilot to "App" mode when on finals. You should see a pink or green diamond on the right of the screen as you get within range of the glideslope beacon, which you should intercept between 2-3000ft at around 5 miles from the runway.
