FSX Disk 2 not working

Recommended Posts

Good evening to everyone,

some years ago (2012) I have bough the retail disc version of "Microsoft Flight Simulator X (Deluxe Edition)".

I have used it since then and everything works fine on my pc.

Unfortunately, I need to reinstall it on my pc but an error occurs during the installation procedure. In particular, error 1305 stating that some files are not found in the DVD number 2.

Do you know a way to receive a replacement of such disk? Or maybe download the online version to be activated with the product key (which I have).

I hope some of you can help me in solving this issue.

Best regards,

Matteo

1. Carefully clean the disk.

2. No such replacements exist.

3. There is no online version to download from MS.

4. You could start over and purchase the Steam version at full price.

make a folder on the pc.

copy all folders and files from disk 1 to that folder.

copy all folders and files from disk 1 to that folder as well.

run the installer file from that folder.

------

or use your CD/DVD burner.

make an .iso file of disk 2 and burn the .iso to a blank DVD.

install from that.

Look here

You may end up needing to use the reset tool or using regedit - i did recently

In the thread you linked that registry advise is about a different error message (1722). It does not apply here. Even if it would, using regedit in csse of 1722 would be very bad advice.

this error, 1305, is about an unreadable DVD. (missing files on dvd).

therefore trying to copy the files to disk first, copying the DVD, is the way to go.

I have already tried to copy the content of Disk 2 on my pc.

Unfortunately, a .cab file cannot be copied (seems corrupted).

Without that .cab, the installation procedure does not continue.

How can I copy the content if a file is unreadable?

1305 errors if resolved can often lead to the 1722 error!

One case in particular https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/518736-error-1305-while-downloading-fsx/ If you read it fully

Do you happen to have ashampoo burning software installed? This is known to throw up CD read errors or just constant spooling. Try uninstalling it and try again. Sounds crazy but worked for me recently and solved my incessant disk read problems on my LG DVD rewriter

Your local video game store might have a disk repair service, where they can grind out scratches in the disk surface with a special machine, like this shop in the UK: https://www.game.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/en/10151/info/StaticPageDisplay?storeId=10151&categoryId=34569&brdcrmb_trail=Help%7CProducts-Services
