From the drop-down menu, select My Library. Scroll down the list to Microsoft Flight Simulator and click on the thumbnail image - NOT the blue Launch button! This will launch the video trailer with the message "You own this game" or "This game is installed", which will quickly change to "Update available" and the download will start automatically. My initial, completely unscientific take is that the city buildings appear much more distantly and wave action seems better. Looks like many aircraft had their flight models updated. It occurs when the system or user lacks the required files or permissions to change settings at the time of Windows update. Try downloading as the adminstrator.
