Not sure if your asking for help or venting. If it's help, please provide your equipment specs. If it's venting, I understand :D Windows 10 Pro, 32 gigs DDR4 RAM, Nvidia GForce RTX 3070, Intel I7 10700 running at 3.8, with Noctua NH-L9x65, Premium Low-Profile CPU Cooler-HP Reverb G2 for Virtual Reality

This could be your antivirus scanning flightsimulator.exe and your flightsimulator folders for viruses. Try adding flightsimulator.exe to your antivirus exclusions or "whitelist". g7rta
Not that it’s connected... but today I thought I would check for Windows updates... store updates..then launch MSFS. The sim was locking up every couple of seconds. Even the menus. I remember reading about a Windows update causing havoc with msfs a few weeks back, so I went back to the restore point (which it must have created) and all was well again. I don’t know the actual update reference but it was a cumulative preview update or something.
