VFRguy
Is it possible to build a flight plan with multiple stages? Depart from point A, arrive at point B and not land, then fly on to point C and not land, and on to point D and E? Or, land at each point and then take off to the next point and land there and so on? PEIRascal
Is it possible to build a flight plan with multiple stages? Depart from point A, arrive at point B and not land, then fly on to point C and not land, and on to point D and E? Or, land at each point and then take off to the next point and land there and so on? You can add as many waypoints to your flight plan as desired. If they are airports, you can land , (eat, fuel up or sight see) then take off for the next leg of the flight. To do this: 1) Enter your Departure airport 2) Enter your arrival airport. This will give yo a straight line on the planning map. Any spots in between can be added as follows 3) Zoom in enough to see the name of the airport you want to add. When you can see the name click on it. 4) You will see the option to ADD. Click this option and it adds it to the flight plan. You can land or just fly over. 5) Repeat step four to your hearts content. VFRguy
THANKS Looks great and I will try it out. As usual, something is hard until you learn to do it then it will have been easy all along. Thanks again
PEIRascal
You are welcome. Always glad to help when I can. Just remember step 3. You have to zoom in to see the name of the airport or your waypoint will be called Custom. You can add custom waypoints at random locations as above. VFRguy
Holly Smokes. Grade School stuff. I was blind to the keyword “ADDâ€. It took me around 6 minutes to build the flight plan below. VANCE AFB, HENNESSEY, KINGFISHER, OKARCHE, HARMON, PELLER FARM, EL RENO, PAGE (MY SOLO AIRPORT), WILL ROGERS, DOWNTOWN, TINKER AFB, WILLEY POST, SUNDANCE (MY AT6 TEXAN FLIGHT), GUTHRIE, STILLWATER PERRY, RINGWOOD, AND BACK TO VANCE AFB. Take away the two Air Force bases, Stillwater and Will Rogers. I have flown this rout in real life. One big loop. I was afraid to fly into Will Rogers. PEIRascal
Great to see. Once done planning you can save the flight to fly again sometime. After completing yo will see a button for Load/save at the bottom of the screen. Just be sure to save it as a .PLN and not a .FLT. You will have to set this in the save window/ I have a custom folder for my plans. I just called it MSFS Plans. I save all my plans there. Once you get the feel for it you will find it is very versatile. Just glad it is working for you. Happy flying. VFRguy
OH Really! I was wondering about that Two files thing. I even did a little post on the matter. I need to study your post a little closer and figure out the ropes. I have that flight plan filed as a .FLT file and it also made a .PLN file. Is that the .PLN file you are talking about or another one? . . Also I plan to make that flight later today. Should be fun. VFRguy PS. Where do you keep your custom .PLN folder? PEIRascal
OH Really! PS. Where do you keep your custom .PLN folder? I actually store mine on the cloud OneDrive. But you can create a folder where ever is suitable for you. Mine is just called MSFS Plans. You do have to navigate to the folder every time you load or save, but it is not so bad. In FSX saving flight plans was done automatically. In MSFS this is not required, and you have to remember to save them if you think you might want them later. What I like about the .pln files is that you can load and modify them all you want, I have never used the .flt files as yet. Mostly because I do not really understand them.
