The "only" advice I can give is, did you press any key at that point (spacebar??) 1 patch ago (I think) they removed that "feature", perhaps it got turned back on?? Grasping at straws

More straw clutching...

Did you download it via the MS Store.. & if so, did you then download the digital ownership?

If not, then maybe that’s the answer

You might consider adding your system info to your signature line in your profile? It is often helpful to others when working on problems.

That is the point where updates take place. Could your anti-virus be blocking the update? What is your internet connection speed and are you running on a SSD or a HD?

Thank you for your thoughts .

I have disabled Anti Virus and windows defender .

I have updated Microsoft store .

After opening , pressed spacebar and the welcome screen displayed and searched for updates .

Then I get the mountain scene and that's as far as it goes .

I hope I don't have to do the dreaded reinstall of the 10 discs .

I have had an epiphany .

I have Trend Micro Anti Virus .

Rather than block the protection , I have added MSFS to the exception list .

Silly me .

I have procrastinated about the whole reinstall smash .

It seems to me to be the answer to my problem .

Hope that might help for anyone watching this post .

I know that everyone's system is a stand alone ,but this worked for me .

Although , Fingers crossed .
