Weisy82
Hello I'd really like to buy Microsoft's new Flight Simulator, and wondering if these PC specs will be good enough? Not expecting perfection but hoping these will still let the game shine? Processor i7-2600 16GB RAM Hard Drive 1TB + 240 GB SSD Graphic Card 4GB GTX 1650 I'm not a computer tech so appreciate any thoughts you can please offer. Thanks! plainsman
That does not sound correct?? The I7-2600 is a very old iteration and would not probably run the sim. I don't think anybody would use that in a new build? I suspect you have a Ryzen 5 2600, a newer processor from AMD. The Ryzen 5 2600 should run the sim but it won't run high resolutions or high settings. Weisy82
Ok so done some research and I guess the i7-2600 just won't be good enough What are your thoughts on the i5-9400 with 4GB GTX 1650? Will the game work / look good? Thanks!
plainsman
You don't include enough information. What system memory is included? What storage device or devices are included? To really run this sim at a level you will be happy with you will need to spend about $1,000. That would include an I5-9600 or I5-10500, a 6GB GTX 1660s, 16 GB of system memory, a 240 GB SSD (for the operating system), a 512 GB m.2 (for the simulator and other games), and a decent power supply of about 550-600 watts. Luke
The sandy bridge i7 was probably the best value purchase for both performance and longevity in the past 20 years. It’s probably marginal now but if you have 16GB of memory and a 1650 you should be able to run the sim at lower settings. Worth a shot at least. Cheers Luke
napamule2
I have a i7 2600k that runs at 3.5 ghz BUT will auto throttle up to 3.87 ghz. With 16 gb low latency ram and a decent video card I imagine I could run FS2020 in moderate settings if I turn off some 'stuff' (eye candy). But I am thinking of an i7 9700k for the future. What I like abou the i7's is that they run cool. So with liquid cooling moderate overclocking is very possible. Bottom line: All it takes is money. Chuck B Napamule i7 2600K @ 3.4 Ghz (Turbo-Boost to 3.877 Ghz), Asus P8H67 Pro, Super Talent 8 Gb DDR3/1333 Dual Channel, XFX Radeon R7-360B 2Gb DDR5, Corsair 650 W PSU, Dell 23 in (2048x1152), Windows7 Pro 64 bit, MS Sidewinder Precision 2 Joy, Logitech K-360 wireless KB & Mouse, Targus PAUK10U USB Keypad for Throttle (F1 to F4)/Spoiler/Tailhook/Wing Fold/Pitch Trim/Parking Brake/Snap to 2D Panel/View Change. Installed on 250 Gb (D:). FS9 and FSX Acceleration (locked at 30 FPS).
