i will buy a FSX Deluxe edition or a Gold Edition .

Do i need :

1/ the first FSX to be allready installed in the PC or do i install the Deluxe Edition directly without the first FSX ??

The thing is, can you buy either?

If you're just beginning to get into this wonderful hobby, then I would advice you to look at the Steam Edition (also called FSX:SE sometimes).

That is actually FSX Gold, with a few improvements, and usually available for less than the disk versions. Just download and install that, and you are good to go.

I'm not sure what you mean "the first FSX" since when FSX initially came out there were two versions, FSX and FSX Deluxe. Deluxe was the same program but with a number of extras, including the SDK, so a Deluxe installation is standalone. There was no previous version to these, unless you go back to FS9 (FS2004).

If you do get either of these, you'll also want to get the SP1 and SP2 updates. The FSX and FSX Deluxe are on disc, while the SP1 and SP2 are downloads.

All that being said FSX-SE (Steam Edition), as Jorgen recommends, is reportedly good (I have the Deluxe, so don't know directly about steam) so that's probably a better bet, plus it's cheaper.

With the disks there's no "having to install fsx first".

You install "fsx deluxe". Then the acceleration update on top if you want.
