richiemo
Gang, some of my aircraft in FS9 tie the logo and cabin lights (as seen from outside spot view) to the landing lights. This means that if I'm at the gate, and for realism I want the cabin lights and logo light on at night, I need to turn on the landing lights. Now, for realism's sake, I cured the issue of the landing lights reflecting on the fuselage by editing the L.bmp of the aircraft. But is there anyway to delete the landing light effects that show on the ground ahead of the plane. I don't think that's part of the texture file of the individual aircraft. Is that a texture in the main texture file of FS9 that I can delete, or is it baked into the program where I can't delete it. Again, just for realisms sake. And quite frankly, I don't even like that effect from the cockpit when I'm landing, as it makes the runway exit taxi ways harder to see.
PAULCRAIG
The landing lights are part of the model with an effect attached to it, in FSX this effect is the fx_landing.fx so in FS9 there should be a similar effect, don't delete it, just rename it or remove it from the folder. tgibson_new
Do not remove your landing lights effect! If you want the panel lights to control the lights instead of the landing lights, open the plane's night textures in DXTBmp and edit the alpha channel. For those areas you want to control with the panel lights switch , make that area black in the alpha channel. Leaving areas white will control those areas with the landing lights switch. Here is an explanation of the process using PSP7 to edit the night texture alpha channel. http://www.calclassic.com/repaint5.htm Hope this helps, Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.com
