8. About 85 nm out of Geneva we pass near the municipality of Vesoul and Lake Vaivre.

 

9. Off to our left we see the city of Nancy on the Meurthe River, a tributary of the Moselle.

 

10. With Luxembourg a few miles to our left we are passing over the German city of Trier on the Moselle River. One of its famous landmarks is the Porta Nigra, a well-preserved Roman city gate.

 

11. We prepare for our initial descent passing over the city of Cologne and the River Rhine.

12. Descending through 9,000 feet about 17 nm from Dusseldorf.

 

13. Now over the southern suburbs of Dusseldorf with the Rhine below.

 

14. Down to 6,000 feet we turn toward the airport.

 

15. We now turn to intercept runway 23 at Dusseldorf’s Lohausen airport.

 

16. Descending through 4,000 feet 8 nm from the airport.

 

17. Lining up our approach with flaps 40 and gear down.

 

18. Lined up on short final at about 500 feet.

 

19. We have passed over the numbers and the flair is good.

 

20. Touchdown.

 

21. Taxiing to parking at the terminal.
