markuskaufmann
Hello I am currently involved in a project to teach a flight simulator how to land with artificial intelligence and I am considering to use this flight simulator in the project. Two areas are critical in this project: 1. Control the planes behavior/movement in real time 2. Read environmental data in real time (speed, height, weather, position etc.) Does anyone have any experiences with these two points? I would really appreciate if you could share your experiences! Have a great day! Kind Regards
ddawson
It's all here: http://www.prepar3d.com/SDKv4/LearningCenter.php The SimConnect interface feels a little clunky until you've used it for a while, but it certainly will do everything you need. The PDK intereface is newer and works at a lower level. it'w where LM want us to go with this sort of thing. I have not as yet used it.

Several developers have flight modelling OUTSIDE of the basic sim - A2A, PMDG, Majestic just to cover a few. And weather engines are offered by REX and HiFI Simulations (Active Sky) as well as freeware from FSXWX. What is different about P3D is it has no native weather engine offering live, real time weather, but it does have the native ability to accommodate such weather engines.
