skip d
Hi Everybody... I'm trying to turn off the blinking "MSG" light in the GPS 500 in my P3dv4.1. It was easy to do in FSX by simply opening the "fs9gps.cab" and extracting the 500,xml. A few annotations to the "message off" section in the .xml.....and then press "SAVE"....that worked wonderfully with FSX. Now with P3dv4.1 I'm finding that pressing "SAVE" won't work !! I noticed that "SAVE AS" pops up a few options.. ANSI..UNICODE..UNICODE BIG ENDIAN....and UTF-8..... I tryed using each one of these....but still did not save the newly edited 500GPS gauge. Is there something i'm missing...or just in way too far above my head !! Thanks for any help !!
mrzippy
I have found that pressing the message button about 5 or 6 times very fast will turn it off. I know you are looking for a more permanent solution. Still thinking about a new flightsim only computer!
PhantomTweak
Is your P3D installed to C:\Program Files or C:\Program Files(X86)? If so, the you're gonna have problems editing ANYthing inside the P3D folder. Copy whatever you want to edit to a separate temp folder someplace OTHER than either of those two folder. Like C:\Temp, or whatever. Edit it there, save it off there, and then copy it back to your P3D folder. Just a thought.
