Flying in to Grimes Airfield

I thought it would be a good day to fly the Waco to Grimes Airfield in Bethel PA. home to the Golden Age Air Museum. The temp was 40. This is a real neat airfield to download. Grimes Airfield (8N1) is located in the beautiful countryside of Berks County, PA, USA. Built in 1946 by a local businessman, Walter Grimes, the airfield has been in constant operation since its opening. When it opened, Grimes Airport was a show piece of small airports. Aircraft from Piper Cubs to Douglas DC-3s regularly operated from the airfield.tn_2018-1-9_18-41-45-103.jpgtn_2018-1-9_18-41-59-255.jpgtn_2018-1-9_18-42-22-301.jpgtn_2018-1-9_18-44-49-898.jpgtn_2018-1-9_18-50-9-149.jpgtn_2018-1-9_18-52-3-530.jpgtn_2018-1-9_18-56-15-35.jpg

Wow, a beautiful little airfield! Great pics of it!:cool: Is there a bar?

Yes. It's across the runway to keep you out. We know what kind of mischief you get up to Jan.

I like your airfield Dan. Please don't let His Highness mess it up. ;) -- Bob

Hey Bob,

I believe that airfield is safe from an incursion by His Peerness. In the shots presented here there wasn't a lake, a river, or even a pond in sight! ;)

GREAT SHOTS!!

Michael

Being an old chopper guy I usually fly low and slow.
